This was an INTERESTING show. Not sure Youngstown was prepared for Tobymac! The audience seemed somewhat uncomfortable. I actually had a woman behind me ask if I was going to stand up for the entire concert! I moved over to in front of the "sound control" area to dance, sing and hold up my "I LOVE THIRD DAY" sign and on the reverse side (lest anyone think I worship Third Day) it said "I LIVE because of JESUS!" My reward ~ turning around to find Mac and MWS singing so close I could touch them! Toby joined and then Max. I think Mac was worried about how the night sounded from the audience perspective, and whether it was worth the drive from Deetroit. No worries. Sounded fine, was fun and totally worth the drive!
Make A Difference Tour
First nights of tours are always interesting. This day felt more like trying to launch a circus than a tour. With 3 headlining acts and a speaker, it's going to be a challenge to pull off the Make A Difference Tour. There were the usual technical challenges.... hums in rigs, missed lighting cues, etc. But, overall the night really happened and had some amazing moments. Our favorite time of the night was probably the pre-show meet and greet where Max Lucado delivered a powerful mini-sermon about fighting compassion fatigue.
