First of all, let me get this out of the way: we need to come to Canada more often. Other than 3 or 4 shows out west last year, we haven't done any significant touring there in years. We're working on it...
What was going to be a short trip to Toronto got WAY shorter when our flight from Atlanta got delayed several times. When all was said and done we were in town for just over 12 hours. The flight ended up being a good one once it finally got going.
Our show was an event called WonderJam at an amusement park called Canada's Wonderland. They had some legit coasters there - about 10 years ago I would have wanted to ride them all, but nowadays I get dizzy just looking at them.
We did a brief meet and greet before the show. I know I've said this before but it never ceases to amaze us when we travel so far from home and meet people who are big fans of our music. Did i say we need to come to Canada more often?
One thing we were particularly excited about was sharing the stage with our good friend Chris Tomlin. We now live in the same city but rarely see each other, let alone do a show together. I think it's been about 5 years. So it was great to hang out and catch up with those guys.
It was a great show, and surprisingly humid onstage. At times I was wondering if we were really in Toronto because it felt like South Georgia Chris Tomlin also ended up helping provide the highlight of the show when he joined us for God of Wonders.
Sunday morning we got up EARLY to go home for a couple of days before hitting the road again. We had an awesome time in Canada, but it was far too short.
Not sure if I said this or not but we gotta get to Canada more often!
