Another AWESOME Third Day concert. I think there were quite a few people at this show who (like me and my wife) had gone to the Santa Ana concert last Saturday, and I think I had even more fun at this one. It has been a while since I heard them perform “Children of God” in concert, and I had never heard them perform “Agnus Dei”, so those were highlights, and I loved how they closed the set with the audience singing the chorus a capella as the band left the stage – it was such a powerful, prayerful moment. The encore of “My Hope Is You” was also awesome, but I think my favorite number was the acoustic version of “Consuming Fire”. I realized that the band has played “Tunnel” at every one of the eight shows I have been to – which I love, since it is one of my favorite Third Day songs. Since my wife and I are expecting our first baby in August, it may be a while before we are able to go to another Third Day concert so we made sure to make the most of this one.
The meet & greet was great, because Trevor Morgan and Matt Maher were at the meet & greet along with Third Day. I really appreciate all the great music these guys make, and it is nice to have an opportunity to let them know that. As always, the band was super friendly. My wife had told Mac at the meet and greet on Saturday that my birthday was this week, and he remembered and wished me a happy birthday. David Carr also went out of his way to thank us for coming to the shows and let us know how thankful the band is for the support. My wife and I really appreciate how great the band is to all of its fans.
