You guys were amazing! The Holy Spirit was present and I could feel your love for Christ and the people there throughout the show! I was able to meet the artists backstage and I thought "Mac has the kindest eyes!" You guys rocked it too! I have been talking nonstop about the show and Colton Dixon (who I'd never even heard of) and just how amazing it was!
If I were to make a list of my favorite places I've ever traveled, downtown Spokane would be very close to the top. As a touring musician, the most ideal city is one that has some kind of water and a lot of cool shopping within walking distance. Spokane has all of the above and then some. We have played Spokane several times, including our first ever tour show back in 1996.
Our concert tonight took place in the beautiful Riverfront Park, site of the 1974 World's Fair. Just about every time we've ever played Spokane, we've walked around the park and enjoyed the attractions and the falls. It was a huge honor this time around to be able to do a concert there.
The day was spent walking around town for the most part, checking out bookstores, music stores, antique shops, and coffee. Tai gets the prize for going the furthest - I think he walked to an REI store that was over two miles away.
The show tonight was incredible. We were set up on a stage in a natural amphitheater in the park, right on the Spokane River. The crowd was very into it, and the weather was absolutely stunning. It ended up being the perfect night for a concert. The highlight, by far, was bringing Peter Furler up to lead us in a rousing version of "Keep on Rockin in the Free World." It was fun onstage, and looked like fun for the audience as well.
So we can add today and tonight to the long list of great memories we have of Spokane. Can't wait to get back.
