World Pulse Festival - South Bend! Wow is all I can say. The rain/storm held out until Third Day got through their set. Forgoing an encore, the crowd was sent to their cars by the festival officials to wait out an approaching storm. The same system that hit Indianapolis in fact. The radio station announced shortly thereafter that the Newsboys would not perform and the show was cancelled. God is good -- first for the absolutely beautiful weather for Third Day's set, then for getting us off the field before anything bad could happen from the weather. Got to see so many Gomer friends. Did I mention Third Day rocked?? Prayers for all affected by the tragedy in Indy. I know that everyone who was at the show in Indy a few days ago have to especially shaken.
It was an interesting day in South Bend today. We flew out of ATL bright and early. After arriving, we headed by Chic-fil-A for some grub, and then to the venue. The festival was a stage set up in a big field. This is our 3rd or 4th time at Pulse Fest. After some interviews and our Wired meet and greet, we took the stage at 3 Pm. It's a bit different playing in the daytime. It kind of feels like you're either under performing or over performing when there are no lights. The music felt great, and the crowd was great. As soon as we were done, a storm blew in. The festival immediately instructed everyone to go to their cars. Then, they cancelled the rest of the show. The Newsboys were not able to perform. After the show, we went and saw The Rise of the Apes movie which was quite good. Then, we went to get a nice meal together. We then hit the bus to head to Detroit.
