The Rock And Worship Roadshow
Well, after the snow and ice in Missouri, it feels really great to be in the warmer climate of South Alabama. It's still a little cool here, but nothing like last night! Third Day celebrated our time in Mobile by enjoying a lunch with some friends at a local joint called Zea.
Most of this tour has stayed west of the Mississippi. Which is great - don't get me wrong. But for us southern boys it's great to play a show in a place where they know how to talk right. We commemorated the occasion by adding "Sweet Home Alabama" to the set. I mean, when you're in Alabama, you gotta do it. We also added "Tunnel" to the mix for the first time in a long time. It went over really well, and feels like a great way to transition from the rock at the top of the set to the worship and ballads towards the end. We really had a blast tonight. It was a great crowd, and they really made us feel welcome!
It is amazing how after all these years you learn new things about your bandmates. We had an impromptu conversation on the bus tonight about our favorite shows we've ever been to. It's a great entry point for talking about why we like music and why we do what we do. It's cool that we all come from different backgrounds but we all have something to contribute to the musical and spiritual makeup of the band.
It's great to be back in the South! Let's keep it going in Louisiana...
