The Miracle Tour
We had a great time in Mass today. I was born in Brookline, Massachusetts. So, playing in this region always feels like coming home. I had one of those really nice relaxing days on tour where I was able to work out and shower and eat and have good coffee and rest and read. Sorry for the run on sentence. But, it's nice to have a slower paced day where there is time to tend to body, mind, and spirit. The show was really nice. Our previous play in Lowell was at the auditorium, where everyone was packed in like sardines. Tonight's show was in a much nicer venue, but things were a bit more spread out, much easier on the crew. There wasn't as much naturally generated energy from the venue. But, the audience sure brought it with enthusiasm. I was asking fans in the meet and greet line what songs they wanted to hear, and I think we batted 1000. We've geared the set to our big songs from the last 5 years, with a sprinkle of classics. After the show, the whole tour went out for a nice dinner courtesy of our booking agent of 18 years, Jeff Gregg. I was jokingly telling Colton how you used to have to make it in music pre-American Idol. When Jeff Gregg first came and saw us play, it was on a Sunday night in Atlanta. He gave me a business card and told me to drop by the office sometime. No problem, I drove the touring van from the venue to the parking lot of his booking agency and slept in the car. On Monday morning, when he came into work, I was there waiting, and we hammered out a deal. He's been our agent ever since!
