An Evening With
Today was the first day of a five show run and it was an "Evening With" show at a cool little theater in town. Meaning it was all Third Day all the time! There are no other acts on the bill. This allows the band to really enojoy the night and be a little more fluid to react to the crowd since there are no big time constraints.
The crew spent the day enjoying a nice easy pace for load in. Getting everything put back together from out fly date to Toronto last week and just a little over all maintainence on gear. This is another perk to the "Evening With" shows. The band flew in to Albuqueque in the morning and then bussed down to Farmington. Their business manager is out for a few days to so they spent most of the afternoon in meetings and traveling.
Then the show came. We don't get to the southwest as much as we should and it was quite evident once the show started. This was by no means the biggest crowd we have played for but they were certainly one of the loudest! The set was a good mixture of new and old songs, rock and worship and the crowd was into it 110%.
After the concert, the guys had such a fun time and the crowd had been so great, the decided to go out and sign autographs for a while in the lobby. See, these "Evening With" shows have a lot of perks and are really turning out to be some of the most fun shows we have done in a while. Thanks for coming out, Farmington. See you next time!
