I commented on the Grove City show that it was the most enjoyable night of music I had ever witnessed. This show at least equaled or may have surpassed that night of March 26. There is not a better rock and roll band in the world than Third Day. And the best thing about them is that they genuinely sing and play for the glory of God. I'm gonna paraphrase this, but John Lennon once said, in talking about the popularity of the Beatles that they were bigger than God. Well, in terms of record sales and concert attendance, if Third Day was a secular band they would be bigger than the Beatles or any band since. I'm sure there are many music fans out there who have never heard of Third Day. Though I've always had a belief in God, I never made a commitment to Him until 2007. That's when I started listening to Christian music and first heard of and got turned on to Third Day. I regret that I missed the first 10 years or so of their career. But since, I have seen them about 10 times and have collected all of their CDs (except Southern Tracks which is very hard to come by). And though I quickly became a huge fan, they seem to have gotten better with each album and concert I've attended since. The music of Third Day has helped my wife and I through many struggles since then, including the death of her son, my step son. Thanks to Mac, Mark, Tai and David and also Scotty and Jason for the inspiration. Hope to see you in the fall if you come back to Ohio.
Make Your Move Tour
We had a very memorable day in Cincinnati. Some great fans decided to tail gate for the show. So, we went out and joined them for lunch. David went flying with a friend. The rest of went and checked out the new Thor movie which was actually quite enjoyable. We did a few interviews for the upcoming benefit relief concert in Birmingham. During the show, we were crammed into an old high school gymnasium that made me feel like we were playing in a Nirvana video. We added Don't Give Up Hope to the setlist, and it went really well for a first time through. I know people always think its weird that we can't just play everything. But, we want to make sure that every song is performed well for you, and that sometimes requires some special attention.
After the show, we performed another after show acoustic set to a great crowd. Then, we re-joined the superfans for some more meat from the grill. Our Atlanta Hawks did not look good on the tv, but it didn't take away from our high spirits after a great day.
