The Miracle Tour
We've had some great shows in the Indianapolis area lately. The last time we played here the show solid out so quickly that we contemplated doing a second show. This time around we planned ahead a bit and left room to add a second show. Today was that "second show".
We started our day in Atlanta. You wouldn't think it, but having the morning at home really helps things on the home front. In my case (Mark), taking my kids to school is a great way for me to spend time with my daughters while my wife gets a bit of a break. So even though it makes for a long day, it's a good thing. The flight from Atlanta to Indianapolis was uneventful, which is exactly what you want. On the drive from the airport to the venue, we talked about how cool it would be to integrate the openers into the show a bit more. Upon our arrival, we did a soundcheck to work on the changes.
The actual show was really good. Mac decided that the people who come to the "second show" are not procrastinators, but are people who refuse to take no for an answer. We played a full version of God of Wonders and brought out Colton. It was an instant highlight of the show.
One fun thing about touring is being able to see friends of ours in different places we travel. In this case we had some members of the Indianapolis Colts come out to the show. It was great hanging with old friends and meeting some new ones. Seeing as the Colts aren't in the same division as my Falcons, I'm rooting for a Colts/Falcons Super Bowl this year!
Thanks again, Indianapolis, for a memorable evening. We should do this again soon. How about tomorrow?
