The Rock And Worship Roadshow
If you hang around Third Day very long, you'll quickly find that we split almost evenly into two camps. There's the get up early seize the day kind of crowd which features Tai and David. And then there's the stay up late and watch Tv and then sleep late kind of crowd that Mac, Scotty, and Honey Bunn are all a part of. I sort of fluctuate between the two. Last night I was both. I was so tired that I went to bed early and then slept late…
A bunch of interviews were done this morning. I had the opportunity to talk with some folks at a radio station in Ypsilanti, Michigan and another in Lubbock, Texas.
It was a little bit strange being in Anaheim today. You see, I was out here a little over a week ago taking my family to Disneyland right before the tour. So driving around today I saw a lot of familiar places.
Speaking of familiar places, no trip to California would be complete without a meal under the neon trees at In n Out Burger. Lott, David, Honey Bunn, and went there for lunch, and it was awesome as always. Afterwards I took a grand sweeping tour of Orange County. Didn't mean to - I was just looking for some shoes - but it kind of worked out that way with the traffic and whatnot.
One thing that makes playing California special is seeing a lot of our friends in the area. Tonight our buddy Tim Tabor who used to sing for The Prayer Chain was here. We also had some folks from Fender Guitars at the show. Mac and I also got the chance to hang with Greg Sankey who works with the Southeastern Conference, as well as new friend George Schroeder, a sportswriter from USA Today. Great to have them all at the show.
Unbelievable show tonight. We played the Honda Center, which is a big time hockey arena. And it was packed. The crowd was loud, too. It made for an electric kind of atmosphere, like a big festival. Our set felt really great. Lots of energy, and lots of fun. The best moment was probably God of Wonders, when the audience singing was louder than the band. Amazing night for sure.
Well this concludes the California leg of The Roadshow. We always love playing here, and can't wait to get back!
