The Miracle Tour
Tonight was a challenging show for the crew. The stage was one of those multi-level church stages with a lot stairs everywhere. Everything was really, really tight. The production wasn't able to really go in its normal width height, or depth. The crew worked hard to cram it in. But, it would be the equivalent of someone who wears a size 13 mans shoe squeezing into a size 8. Once your foot was in, it still looks the same from 50 feet away, but it's gonna hurt a bit to the guy wearin' it. The band arrived around 3:00, and the crew was still working on the Shoehorn project. By showtime, the room had taken on a different feel. Crammed with people from the floor to the rafters, the room took on a very intimate, rock club feel. It seems like Colton Dixon is coming into his own, and he has his younger sister Schyler out with him, who was also featured on American Idol. We were feeling a little tired come our set as it took the crew a bit longer on the set change. The crowd was really loud tonight, and gave us a lot of energy during the set. I saw one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen during the set. There was a mother in front of me with a teenage daughter who was wheelchair bound. The mother held up her daughter for the entire concert. They sang along, hugged each other, clapped, cried and danced, all with the mother's support. When I would look out, and see them both worshipping God, I was fighting back the tears. I gotta go call my mom.
