Wichita holds a lot of history for us. We've had many great shows here though the years. Beyond that, Rich Mullins lived here and went to church in the area. So it's always exciting for us to come back.
Today was an uneventful day. After the marathon journey in Texas two nights ago, that is a good thing.
I really think what I will take away from my time in Wichita is how awesome this dressing room is. There is a pool table, foosball, video games, and my favorite, table-style shuffleboard. I think all other dressing rooms need to come to this place and take some notes on how it's done.
Today we got together to work on some new music. We're still a LONG way off from any kind of official recording, but it's always great to get in the same room with your bandmates and make music. I think after a couple hours the general sentiment was "Oh yeah. We're a good band!"
The show tonight was really special. To commemorate being in Rich's stomping ground, we added Creed into the set, and it seemed to go over really well. The rock songs like Make Your Move and Otherside felt like they connected, as did the more intimate moments. We have a short set, but I really feel like we're making the most of it!
Thank you, Wichita, for being so awesome!
