Sundays on tour are interesting. My guitar tech Brian refers to it as "day off eve", because it can be easy to look forward to getting home after the show instead of focusing on the show itself. Our time in Tacoma today didn't feel like that at all. I think we made the most of our time here.
The weather in the Seattle area was surprisingly on the cold side. But we didn't let that slow us down. Tai did his daily workout. A few of us went and had lunch at a burger joint and did a bit of shopping. A pretty chill day.
With it being Sunday, Tai stepped up and led us in a tour Bible study. We had a great turnout, with representatives from almost all of the artists there, as well as several of the crew and support staff. The guys from the Neverclaim did some music, and Tai gave a message on the role of Christian music in people's lives. We have so many different artists on the tour representing several different genres, but we are united by the same purpose.
The show tonight was stellar. I felt like we played really great, and I know it's early on, but this was one of the better crowds we've had on this tour so far. We've been working on some video elements and that has continuously improved from night to night. Also, I (finally!) feel comfortable with my new guitar rig. All in all, it was a great night.
The first week of The Roadshow is officially in the books. We've had a great time performing on the West Coast this weekend, and look forward to some more great shows next week. Now, it's time for a redeye flight and some much needed time at home.
