| January and February were filled with recording, mixing
and mastering the new record, WIRE, and deciding on its cover. In March,
Tai, Brad and Mark headed to Lesotho in southern Africa with World Vision
where they saw first-hand the devastation of HIV/AIDS throughout the region. Later that month, the band performed "Wire" for the GMA Awards (Dove Awards) to a Gomer-filled crowd in Nashville. The Live Tour with tobyMac and Warren Barfield was in full gear during April and May; and on May 4th, the band released their highly acclaimed project, WIRE, where it debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen SoundScan¹s Top Christian Albums chart and No. 12 on Billboard¹s Top 200 Albums chart in its first week. During June, the band traveled to Europe for a 2-week tour spanning England, Holland, Germany, Denmark and Ireland. Also, in June, the band collaborated with their friends Steven Curtis Chapman and Bart Millard of Mercy Me to write and record the song "I See Love" for the PASSION OF THE CHRIST: SONGS. In July, Louisville welcomed the band for the filming and recording of their live show that would be released as a DVD/CD later in the year. The remainder of the summer was filled festivals and fairs all across the US. On September 1, the band was in New York City where they performed at
the Republican National Convention and also taped a lengthy interview
with the CBS news program, 60 Minutes, for a feature on the growth
of Christianity in popular music that would air later in the year. In
October,
Third Day was invited to perform at a Presidential Rally in Hershey,
PA where they were
able to spend a few minutes visiting with President Bush. To round
