Today we were in Waukegan which is the city that stands out on the tour as the one that would earn us the most words in Scrabble if we could use cities. The day was spent watching lots of Football (or reading our Bibles if our Mom’s are reading this). Many of the band members are in Fantasy Football leagues so the day was full of cheering and, of course, weeping and gnashing of teeth. Around 5PM we all met for a church service and communion. Nigel brought the Word in a big way and we all left fired up to preach the Gospel on and off the stage! The Meet and Greet was one of the best we’ve had on the tour mainly because of a chili cook-off we had. I sampled all the chili’s many many times and then was informed that I wasn’t actually a judge. But we all had some great food and got to hang out with some awesome VIP and Wired guest.
The show was in a theater tonight. I walked around the neighborhood and learned many things...such as how to help the cops draw a chalk outlined body on the sidewalk. So I quickly went back inside the theater. The crowd was very diverse. I saw tiny little tax deductions running around and elderly people and college groups and lots of families...it was so inspiring to see people from all different age groups coming together to praise God. So thanks to everyone for coming out and making it a special night!
