Well, there was a good chance that tonight's show wasn't going to happen.
The tickets sales were very light, probably the lightest for the tour. We were looking at the drives back and forth between VA and ATL and wondering if the venue wouldn't want to just postpone the show to a later date. After we had put our show up for sale, CBN announced a free show in the area the same weekend featuring our friends Mercy Me. It's just one of those things that happens sometimes. But, the venue felt that put a dent in ticket sales. Now, I know we can hold our own with Mercy Me musically, but it's hard to compete with free. However, the venue decided to proceed. So, we headed up to Portsmouth with low expectations. Don't get mad at that. It's just good to know what you're walking into. Despite some thunderstorms and small attendance, the show went really well. We have a policy of always giving our all. The way we look at it, it's wrong to punish the fans that did show up for the fans that didn't. So, we took the stage purposeful to maybe even give a little more than usual. The audience responded, and we all had a fantastic evening.
