Well, today was our first summer show back in the states after an awesome run of the Make Your Move Tour. In the past, shows in this slot can be a bit dodgy. On tour, we have our own sound and lights from day to day, and are able to really get things dialed in. Also, fans are paying just to see the show. So, you know that the audience is going to be a bit more familiar with the material. We've made the mistake in the past of rolling from one season to the next without shaking it up, and the show has not always gone off as well as it could. For Alive festival, we took a little bit of time to really think about the show and the song selection. We included Full versions of God of Wonders and Creed to appeal to the festival crowd. Summer sets have to be a bit shorter than tour shows. But, we were glad to see that the Surrender moment still worked in the summer. The show went really well. I was impressed with how quickly our crew set up and line-checked our stage after the non-stop party of Family Force 5. The band is all in good spirits, and we really had a great time. It felt like we were almost a festival sampler because our song selection had so much dynamics from pure acoustic songs like Cry Out to Jesus to flat out rockers like Make Your Move. It's going to be a great summer.
