Well, after a few weeks of concentrated focus by all of our team, today was the day of the MakeYourMoveBenefit Relief Concert. We really didn't know what to expect with tickets not being sold in advance. However, we did know that the event was already a success in our minds with so many people stepping forward to help out. Our trucking company donated the fuel to get the gear there. The venue donated the facility. The union crew donated their time to set up the stage. A local BBQ restaurant donated the food for the day. We kept all the expenses really low so that all the money could go to tornado relief.
Ultimately, it would be up to the people of Birmingham to decide how much money was raised and it would be up to us to give them a good show to thank them for it.
After the box office and an offering and with some donations from friends at iTickets and the eWomen conference, the night culminated in over $100,000 raised for tornado relief.
