After a rocky return to the Make A Difference Tour last night, it felt like we had a nice recovery. Knowing we had a lot of Wired Members and Gomers in the house, we shook up the set to feature some stuff we haven't done in a while and Make Your Move by request.
I started the day with a nice jog which took me by several different flavors of road kill. Then, Mac and I had a nice walk with Nigel. We had a great time of study with Max Lucado and all the artists on the tour. Then, we spent some time loving on the fans with an impromptu meet and greet/hang time.
I tried to carve out some time to work up some changes to the visuals of the show with our lighting director, Taylor. I think we came up with some good stuff.
The show felt really great. Ending with Creed was a nice addition for this tour. I really liked this set, but I think Mac felt a little too rushed. So, we're going to drop a song and maybe trying to create a moment that breathes a little bit more with Your Love Oh Lord tomorrow.
Also, a really inspiring moment happened for me and meet and greet. We met a beautiful lady who is suffering from stage 4 cancer. She gave me a hug, and with incredible joy relayed her gratitude to God that she was able to see us one last time before she died. It was her 5th time seeing us in the last few years. A lot of times, we get caught up in backstage discussions trying to work up the best set list. We argue about song orders, and tweak the production. There's time where it feels like it doesn't really make a difference what we do, and all the extra effort is wasted. Perhaps. I don't know. But, I do know that I am incredibly inspired and humbled to give my best to amazing fans who deserve our best. Every Night!
