with Skillet, Mandisa, Brandon Heath, Peter Furler, We As Human
Thursday night shows can be tough. From our perspective, we often have a full day of travel just to get to the show. Throw in a time change, and we're ready to go to bed right at showtime. It can be tough for the audience as well, because it's a school night and most folks have to go to work the next day.
But you know what? Tonight in Wichita Falls was simply incredible.
We met this morning and rode down to the airport together. It's always fun getting to catch up on what everybody's been up to over our time at home. As you can imagine, we end up talking about our kids a lot :) We then flew to Oklahoma City where our bus picked us up and drove us to Wichita Falls. The bus is the secret weapon on days like today. I got in a good old nap, so was pretty energized and ready when showtime rolled around.
We had a special guest at the show tonight. Mylon LeFevre is a fellow Atlanta musician who lives in Texas now. He was hugely inspirational for us when we first got started. We did a couple of devotions with him that should be available on his app in the near future. Check out mylon.org for details...
The show was a blast. None of that Thursday stuff I mentioned came into play at all. Just a good fun rock show. I missed a note that I'll be thinking about when I try to go to sleep tonight, but other than that it was really great. Having Jen from Skillet as well as Peter Furler join us onstage really added to the energy level. And the audience was great as well. River was a highlight, as were Miracle, Born Again, and Kicking and Screaming.
Well that about does it. Here's hoping we get to play in this area soon. Y'all be praying for us and our families as we're at the beginning of a long stretch of shows!
