"San Antonio is one of my favorite cities in the world."
John from Skillet just said that from stage and I have to agree. Great people and great food (that's pretty much all you need to make Third Day happy!). But beyond that, folks here know how to talk right. And most importantly, they know how to rock.
Since today was the first day of the run, we spent a good portion of the day just getting here. I took advantage of the time when we got here and, well, took a nap. Between still being on "rock and roll time" yet still needing to get up early with my daughters, I don't sleep much at home. The first day back on the road usually involves some sleep.
Before the show tonight we had the great opportunity to hang out with our friends at Air1 Radio. They've been good to us over the years, most recently adding our new single "Kicking and Screaming". We had dinner with Air1 as well as some of their donors and other friends, as well as some of our label team. Great people, great food (there's that winning combination again!).
The show tonight was stellar. Definitely worthy of Texas. Big lights, big sound, big stage. God of Wonders continues to floor me with the level of singing from the crowd. I can literally here it over the band. And the new song Kicking and Screaming seemed to go over well.
Well, they (whoever "they" are) are calling for some potential bad weather in the area tonight. Prayers go out for safety as everyone travels home! As for us, we head to Dallas for some more Roadshow goodness...
