Spokane is one of our favorite cities to play. They have a beautiful downtown area on a river, and there's tons to do within walking distance. Great shopping, great food, great coffee. And whenever we do a concert here, people come out in droves. We have a lot of great memories, going back to our very first tour stop in 1996. Most recently we performed at Riverfront Park with Peter Furler last summer.
Today most of the band opted for a movie. We saw Lone Survivor. While I wouldn't recommend it to everyone (it's pretty violent and certainly earns its 'R' rating), it was an intense and inspiring story of bravery and sacrifice. I half-joked after seeing it that I'm never going to complain about anything ever again.
The show tonight had easily the largest crowd of the show. And they were loud. Our time slot on this tour is only 35 minutes, but I feel like we're starting to get into the groove of that set length. We're able to include a lot of Third Day favorites in the set, including I Need a Miracle and God of Wonders. We're also excited to be playing our new single Kicking and Screaming. And there's plenty of energy coming off the stage.
Tonight Mac and I had the chance to do a short acoustic set after our main performance. We went out to the middle of the arena and played Blessed Assurance, Cry Out to Jesus, and Agnus Dei. It was a great moment.
We're getting ready to drive to Seattle. I hear there's some snow in between here and there (I hope we make it!). We definitely created some new memories in Spokane today. Can't wait to come back!
