Harvest America Event
One of our favorite events we've partnered with is Greg Laurie's Harvest Crusade. We had the opportunity to perform live at a Harvest Crusade in California a few weeks ago. Tonight was a little different but equally awesome. We played at Prestonwood Baptist Church outside Dallas as part of an event called Harvest America. Churches across the country hosted performers and played the video of Greg Laurie's message at this weekend's Harvest Crusade. We did this event last year, and it was a huge honor to be back.
But first, the important part. You know I've got to talk about the food. The church provided the catering today, and it consisted of some of the best barbecue I've had in recent memory. Yes, it even ranked up there with Hogapalooza from the other night. For dinner they had Mexican fare and it was equally good.
This afternoon saw us splitting up and doing some different things. David rode into downtown Dallas to do some photography. Tai and myself hung out and watched football. Today was extra cool because our friend David Nelson dropped by. He played college football at Florida and has spent the last couple seasons in the NFL. You get a completely different perspective watching football with a football player.
The opening act tonight was none other than Colton Dixon. It's always great to cross paths with friends from previous tours. We spent a lot of time hanging with Colton and his band this afternoon. They put on a great show tonight as well.
The show tonight was a change of pace from a normal Third Day show. We performed for about half an hour, then turned the stage over for the video presentation of Greg Laurie's message. Then Pastor Jack Graham gave an invitation to the live audience in Dallas. We played a few more songs, and then the night ended with several baptisms. It was a really special thing to be a part of, and something I hope we can come back and do in the near future.
Well that about wraps up a full weekend of shows. We're currently driving to Memphis where we'll fly back to Atlanta for a couple days off with family. Catch you in a few days!
