Today we played at Wild Adventures in Valdosta, GA, one of our perennial favorite summer tour stops. With it being located right near the Georgia/Florida line, fans drive in from all over for this event. We have many fond memories of playing this venue - it's hot, it's loud, and it's a ton of fun.
We spent a fair amount of time this afternoon working onstage. The hope was to get some rehearsal time so that we could work up a couple of different songs to add to the set. Since we have a bunch of crazy travel coming up in the next few weeks, we wanted to give our crew some time to get the sound and lights dialed in for the summer. We changed up the acoustic set a little bit, and also added Thief to the list for tonight.
After a brief meet and greet with fans, we took the stage. As expected, it was hot, it was humid, and it was loud. We were sweating almost instantly, which feels just about right for a rock show. We had a couple of minor difficulties on the audio front - the lights and guitars weren't playing nice. Other than that, it was a really stellar show. We've had many great nights in Valdosta, and this will definitely go down as one of them.
After the show, we rolled back to Atlanta. With tomorrow being Father's Day, we wanted to get home as soon as we could so that we could spend time with our families. It made for a late night and an early morning but it was totally worth it! As I'm writing this, I am sitting next to my daughters, who earlier gave me cards that they made themselves. Who doesn't like handmade Father's Day cards?
Happy Father's Day from Third Day!
