I think it's safe to say we seized the day today. We got up early and went down to Fort Myers Beach. It was the ultimate Florida weather - sunshine for days. Soaked up some rays and swam in the Gulf. Perfect.
I think I've found my future profession. We ate lunch at a local burger joint, and they had the prototypical beach performer dude playing music. You know, a little Buffett, a little Zac Brown, a little Neil Young. How cool of a gig is that? You hang out by the beach and play music. Hmmm…one day in the distant future you might see me doing that :)
Great show tonight, if a little challenging. The stage configuration at the church we performed tonight was a little unusual, making it difficult to present our full-on stage show. Massive props to our stage crew for shoehorning our show onto that stage.
One special highlight tonight was seeing our good friend Greg Davidson. Greg was the youth pastor at the church where my wife Stephanie and Mac's wife Aimee grew up. He was one of the very first local pastors who gave us the opportunity to lead worship. We brought him up onstage tonight - it was nice being able to publicly thank Greg for everything he's done for us.
Well as I type this I am listening to the new Amy Grant record. It is so good - you owe it to yourself to check it out! I am also enjoying some tots from a local joint called Richee B's Sports Restaurant (http://www.richeebsportsrestaurant.com ). Great stuff!
I can't believe this tour is almost over. We have so many great memories, and look forward to making a couple more before it's all said and done. Catch you on the flip side!
