with Colton Dixon and Josh Wilson
Pretty eventful day, or I should say night, in Charlotte. On the drive over from Mobile, AL the opener's bus was hit by a drunk driver, who then swerved off the road. When the bus driver went to check on him, the drunk driver threatened him with a gun. Fortunately, the police arrived on the scene and took the man into custody. The bus and trailer sustained some damage, but no one was hurt. I don't even think most of the guys on their bus woke up. But, they were delayed. They didn't arrive in Charlotte till after lunch time. The rest of my bandmates went out to a place that served gourmet burgers and sushi, which sounded suspect to me. So, I stayed at the venue, had a salad and went on a jog through a part of town that reminded me of the first house I lived in, in the ATL.
Mac was struggling tonight with some allergies. So, I tried to step up my game as much as I could. I was smiling, dancing, and singing throughout the concert. Though the big arena had the potential to gobble up the energy, the show really felt great. We once again invited the young lady Arden to come and sing with us. She sang on love song, and did a great job. Then Schyler Dixon joined us for Born Again again. (See what I did there!) It was sort of ladies night in Charlotte with the guest, which doesn't bother us at all. as Mac said from stage, "Third Day loves the ladies! All our mommas our women. Our wives are all women, and our daughters are going to be women!" Great times in Charlotte!
