Tai Anderson Fear Factor (2007)
Hello......
Welcome to Tai Anderson's 2007 Birthday Fear Factor Game. Round 1 Theme will be based on Dr Suess's "Green Eggs and Ham". Why? Well, these 2 items are not Tai's favorites, so, we thought you ought to show him just how good it can be, and.....
Round 1 starts now and ends midnite Sunday nite. The current time is 12:38 EST.
We figure you are hungry and can play the next rounds on a full belly.
For your challenge you will need:
3 hard boiled eggs, warm - not chilled.
1 Tablespoon green food coloring
1T each fresh or freeze dried dill and chives
1/2 cup parsley, fresh or freeze dried.
1/3 cup ham
Bonus points: Add up to 5 additional green items. The measurement to recieve points for each item is 1 Tablespoon. Using less, will lose you points.
While filming, show each item being placed into the blender or food processor. Puree or make chunky, personal preference is okay. Eat it as quickly as possible. You may have water at the end of the challenge.
Music: Yes, you must have music. You choose...the song must fit the challenge, it can be by any artist. I have "Freak OUT"! in mind, j/k
Points Counter goes like this: Round time limit is 4 minutes
- Completed task: 20 points
- Incomplete: 10 points (make sure you measure carefully and don't miss any steps)
Using the least spoonfuls to finish all of the dish, could earn you BIG points;
Finish in: Clarification: 1 spoonful = 1 bite
5 spoonfuls: Worth 30 points
6 spoonfuls: Worth 25 points
7 spoonfuls: Worth 20 points
8 spoonfuls: Worth 15 points
9 spoonfuls: Worth 10 points
10 or more spoonfuls: Worth 5 points
For each BONUS item added to the green eggs and ham:
1 item = 1 point
2 items = 3 points
3 items = 7 points
4 items = 15 points
5 items = 31 points
Record your challenge and post on YOUTUBE. Make sure you post the link in this thread in your color and font. Ask any questions in the Tai Anderson Fear Factor question thread. Placing a question here will lose you 1 point.
GOOD LUCK! Have fun
For this challenge, it is okay to record at a fast speed. This is the only one. We have to see you doing the challenge in "real time". We will allow speed adjustments for preparation only.
DO NOT DELETE YOUR BLOOPERS PLEASE! We love those...

No, the rules did not change, I only clarified them. Also, seeing the volume of the dish, I realized there was no way you could eat it in 3 spoonfuls. Thanks to your video, I increased the spoonfuls. The only changes I made are in "orange".
Don't forget, if you are not sure, ask 1st.
Your video was great! I love the music you used...awesome

I Agree Joan
The Rules Were Modified After you had made the vid and it was uploaded to YouTube and after the link was posted on this Site
and from The way i read the Original Rules you Met them Very well and i think the Judges should take that in to consideration When making there disision on this Comp
( since i was the one Filming Joan) i Know Because i made sure she was following the rules so that she wouldnt Cheat and have a better chance at winning .
Once the rules are set they shouldnt be modified in any way
I personaly belive that a time limit of at least 8 min should have been set at the start as prep time well exceeded the 4 min allocated as it takes at least 3 min to boil the eggs Peeling them can take up to 4 min and then blending all the ingredience takes at least 3 min because of the lack of liquid involved
By the way i took video of the original Rules with the camera so we have evidence of what it was origanaly lol
But it Was a Great time of Fun and Fellowship as we got to see Joan trying very hard not to Vomit
at one time while Joan was eating that yummy stuff I asked Caleb if he wanted some of the Yummy Baby Food Mum was Eating and He Made a Big Burrrrpppppppping sound as if to say Get Real Uncle Joel (Hes 1 Year Old )
Paraise God that Joan Was able to Have some Fun and Felowship To Celibrate Tai's Birthday (Happy Birthday Tai From Down Under)
Im so Very Proud of Joan And Glad it Gave Her an opertunity to Grow Personaly and Have What some Call Fun in the mean time
Praise the Lord
Holyjoelygomer

The rules were changed to fit Joan's video. Because of the changes, she gets more points, not less.
One reason for the first change (Clarification: 1 spoonful = 1 bite) is because we didn't feel Joan understood what we were saying. When we said eat it in one spoonful, we meant one bite. (Take one spoonful and put it all in your mouth at once.) We felt that was understood, but Joan had that great big spoon and she was eating many bites out of the spoon. So Debbie added the clarification. When we score her video, we will count how many bites she took to finish it and score it accordingly. That didn't change. It was the plan all along.
Another change was to up the number of bites for the points. When we come up with these challenges, we don't test them first in our kitchens at home. So we didn't know how much this "recipe" would make. When we saw how much was there, we realized that there was no possible way to eat it all in just a few bites! So we made it more points for more bites.
We also didn't realize how long it would take to eat that concoction, or to prepare it. What you did with the video speed was brilliant! So Debbie posted that that was allowed. That way, we can see the preparation without having to watch a 30 minute video. (Debbie and I have to watch these videos a half dozen times each when we score them to make sure we don't miss anything. We'd like to keep them as short as possible. ) And you don't have to show all of the preparation. For instance, you show the eggs going into the water in the pan, then cut to adding them to the blender. You don't have to do it in real time. You can cut out the nonessential parts.
Debbie talked to Tai today. He said he really enjoyed watching Joan's video. I'm sure he will be watching all of them! So have fun with it!

Thanks Corrine...and thank you Joel.
I didnt know Joel was gonna write in, and I had not mentioned the alterations to him. (He is a convert to Gomersville from my church )
I thought, originally that one spoon meant one bite. I had a few emails wishing me luck and they suggested, as they believed the hint to be, to use the biggest spoon possible....I liked that idea.
Now when I am being silly I can get 3/4 of that spoon in my mouth, with food on it....usually with chocolate. But I tell ya....1/2 cup parsley and all that dill...I am for herbs, but they were STRONG! I just couldnt do it.
I will not be eating fresh parsley for a long, long time.
I am thrilled to hear that Tai watched the vid and that he enjoyed it. After all...as I said, I was doing it for him and his entertainment. lol
And Joel is right. It has taken a lot for me to break down my walls of shame and step out. I am overweight and have been struggling with it for a while now. Despite loosing some weight, the shame is there. I am learning about beauty within. By stepping up and participating, knowing people are laughing in fun, and being totally comfortable with that is big for me. And I am glad that it is Tai's challenges that are helping me do this. I am having a great time.
In fact, my pastor had Joel and I show this vid in church toady. We are a small congregation of 120, but everyone laughed hard.
They are all backing me to win TAFF....
I insisted that we video the placing and blending of ingredients. I couldnt figure out how you could tell if I cheated....and it wasnt my 5 ingredients that made it worse! lol Fresh, Italian Flat Parsley....& dill!!!
Ohhh I think I hear my husband. He has been out of town, in Brisbane for 2 days....BYEEEEEE!!!!

Debbie: You may be asking about green cordial. I was surprised when I spoke to Jason to find that you don't have cordial in the States. It's sweet, and is diluted with water. Children (and big kids) drink it.
Great video Joan. Not sure I'd want to eat it, of course.
