Her real story? She cheated, lied about it for years, and now she's busted. I'm not exactly sure why anybody is praising her for giving back her medals. It's like quitting a job when you know they're going to can your butt.

Elite athletes know exactly what they are putting in their body. They have to b/c of the drug testing that occurs at random times throughout the year. Even taking a cold medicine pill has the opportunity to cause a positive drug test thus banning. There is no way that someone who is drug tested that much would take something, even if recommended, that they didn't know exactly what it was and the consequences of taking it especially when they take it over a period of time. She knew what it was and knew it wouldn't be detectable.

Hmmmm....such a shame. I thought I saw where she was claiming she didn't know that it was steriods...like her trainers lied to her. I must be wrong.

While I think its nobel she came clean...I think she got what she deserves and her punishment will be the life-long humilation of knowing she achived great things...only as a cheater.

Athletes aren't stupid...they're not going to let a person put anything in their body unless they know exactly what it is. That's why Barry Bonds's story is so bogus...he knew exactly what it was because the trainer he hired was an obscure steroids dealer who was an expert at steroid combinations and who had significant ties to BALCO, one of the largest steroid labs in the world. BALCO's also where Marion Jones got her steroids...it's not the trainers, it's the athletes, and it's disgraceful that the athletes try to blame it on the trainers.

She may be claiming her trainers lied to her, and i don't know the truth or not, but it would be highly unlikely that she didn't notice something. If the trainers were lying to her and the other athletes (bonds etc...) I would be suing the pants off the company and the trainers. I notice no single person is doing that.
