I was just trolling around on the old dumb-tube and came across the Sarah Silverman show on Comedy Channel.

her show is a cit-com and had her befreinding Abortion rights folks who were trying to educate her. Her character had multiple abortions and she acted like the clinic and people/doctors were old friends....like it was home.

Then they had the protestors act like crazies who were going to blow up the clinic and she saved the day. She even joked about the vaccum unit etc etc.

It was absolutley sickening and even me, thinking that just about all is fair and funny in comedy was repulsed.

How would it be if they joked about a young woman killing her 3 day old, 3 month old or 2 yr old child? There'd be outrage, but this was OK.

Sick !!!!!!!

I greatly dislike Sarah Silverman and I find her humor disturbing. On the MTV awards last month, she referred to Britney Spears' kids as "adorable mistakes". On the View earlier today, she said she doesn't believe in God. On top of all that, her humor isn't funny at all. I will not watch anything she is in going forward.

She likes to shock people. Very much like that "suck it Jesus" lady (can't remember her name). She king of reminds me of a little kid, that makes all the adults around him laugh when he accidentally bumps his head. So the little kid keeps hitting himself so they can laugh more, and when they get bored, he tries something harder and more painful, eventually jumping into the deep end of the pool in hopes that he can make the adults laugh once more.

that was Kathy Griffith. Just so you don't have to remember anymore. :)

Sarah Silverman is an idiot...not even funny. She had one episode where she slept with "God".

It was the most sacrilegious and offensive thing I've ever seen.

Part of me wishes she step in front of a truck....and have a NDE experience, where God rips her a new one. Then hopefully come back and chage her ways..

She's a no talent skunk...

NDE? Not absolutely sure, but putting it context, I'd guess "Near Death Experience"?

I'm not going to say anything one way or another about Sarah Silverman, I've never seen her show or her stand up routine or anything about her, so talking to me about her would be one of those "having a battle of wits with an unarmed person" moment, I'm pretty clueless.

I look at it this way though. If I didn't want to risk hearing jokes that might offend me while watching TV, stopping on Comedy Central while channel surfing would probably NOT be the smartest thing to do. I know they air clean stuff occasionally, but I figure chances are pretty good that they may very well be airing something offensive. And unless I'm in the mood for offensive (like if it's South Park :D ), I usually move on. In a nutshell, if you don't like what's on, something different is just a touch of a button away. :)

Now if Jonathon is her brother he is good in Little Big League - no longer in our family viewing because of taking the Lord's name in vain.

I generally avoid, and pretty much never have Comedy Central on at our house.

I watch the Colbert Report, sometimes the Daily Show, and sometimes Chappelle's Show. Dave Chappelle is one of my favorite comedians.

Stephen Colbert identifies himself as being Episcopalian, though he has been known to say some things that are somewhat sacrilegious on his show. I rarely ever watch the Daily Show after seeing a segment called "the God Machine" where they portrayed God as getting drunk over the holidays...had a voice-over and everything.

I remember not too long ago Comedy Central had "Sacrilegious Saturday" where they showed a few horribly offensive movies, most notably Dogma, where they portrayed God as being a woman, and other somewhat sacrilegious things...such as God being a huge fan of skeeball.

Now that Sarah Silverman has come along, I've pretty much enacted a boycott of Comedy Central with the exception of Colbert, Chappelle, and sometimes Jon Stewart, but not often...only if nothing else is on. The Blue Collar Comedy things are great, of course, so I watch things like that, plus they show some decent movies like Joe Dirt, but I rarely ever watch Comedy Central.

Stephen Colbert is FUNNY...the Daily show is as well...but not as funny.

I can take a joke and am pretty much open to almost anything when it comes to comedy. Heck, I love comedy clubs here at home...foul mouth, raunchy and all. But there's a time when you can go too far...

Joking around about the death of child just isn't right....joking about abortion is just sick. Regardless what you think of it, its traumatic for the woman and child....its a serious issue with serious consequences.

She won't go far...like that no talent Brittany Spears, she'll look in the mirror and it will tell her what kind of talent she is. She better save her money...the honey well won't last long....

I couldn't believe what I saw in an outtake on a Dave Chappelle DVD. Never had cable to begin with and will never watch it again.

Well to each his own...

I remember I had a Chiropractor who was pretty wound up Christian...not that there's anything wrong with that...

I told him I was going to the comedy club. He asked me if I'd let my kids watch/go to see "That sort of thing"

My reply was, would you let your kids watch you and your wife have sex?

His reply was, "No, they're not old enough to understand"

I said, "I know...if I had kids, they wouldn't understand the comedy club either"

He didn't get it....

Funny. He was all worked up about this and that, preaching all the time and griping about my music etc etc. Meanwhile he was raping our Ins company by making believe I had back isses and needed to pay him 35.00 to have my back cracked...

Hmmm...imagine that...

That's usually a method of compensation. If someone is doing something that they know is wrong, they'll subconsciously make up for their "crime" by fiercely following other rules, be it to hide their skeleton in the closet, or to remove their guilt ("sure, I'm doing this... but look at how good I am otherwise!"). Most of us fall into this trap at some point in our lives. I know I did!

Most of us fall into this trap every day of our lives in some way...some more than others, though.

I thought Steven Colbert was Catholic or used to be.

My favorit comedian is Mitch Hedberg. He died a couple of years ago because of a drug overdose. He will be missed

I tried to walk into Target the other day........but I missed
The sales associated asked me what I was doing I said..just practicing

I bought a talking parrot the other day, it didn't say it was hungy...so it died

I used to do drugs..I still do but I used to too

Once in a while I like to smoke a cigar but I don't know anything about them, so when the salesclerk ask me what kind i want say uh.....itsaboys!

I was in a bar one night and this huge guy was in my way, so I said move...and than I ran. So this guy caught up to me, he had I nose ring a hat a brow ring and ear rings. He said to me "you gotta lot of nerve" i said you got a lot of..cranium accessories, the crowd laughs an than he says you guys are smart when I play the dumb crowds I gotta say. You gotta lot of sh@t on your head

Well, Episcopalian's not exactly Catholic, but it's pretty close I think.

I think he said Catholic once, but he could be Episcopalian now. A lot of former RC's come to the Episcopal church. I attend an Episcopal church and our priest used to be RC! I think in the first service they have which is the Eucharist without music or whatever is closest to the RC form. We attend the last service which is contemporary.
