Name some great drummers out there in the music world. I happen to like Rod Morganstein Dixie Dregs /Steve Morse Band. And Buddy Rich was an amazing drummer. Name some of your favorites.

I can think of a few: These are some of the fastest drummers out there.
1. Jayson Sherlock - early MorTifIcaTioN and Paramecium. (I have NEVER heard anyone pound a drumset as fast and as brutal as this guy does. Listen to the 2 songs "Eternal Lamentation" and "Scrolls of the Megilloth title song" from early MorTifIcaTioN and you will see what I mean. It is Chrisitian Death Metal, but there is some super fast and super intense drumming on those 2 songs).
2. Ted Kirkpatrick - early Trouble and TourniqueT. (The most technical drummer I have ever heard, other than Thormen from Blind_GuardiaN and Mike Portnoy from Dream-TheateR. The man can play anything on drums. Also, the guy's drumset is massively huge. Drums on top of drums and cymbals on top of cymbals).
3. Mike Portony - Dream-TheateR. (Other than for Ted Kirpatrick from TourniqueT and Thormen from Blind_GuardiaN, he is the most technical drummer I have ever heard. I guess you have to be to play Progressive Metal with weird and odd time signatures and weird and odd beats and rhythms that are all over the place).
4. Thormen ( I can't remember his whole name) - Blind_GuardiaN and now in Savage Circus these days. (Very technical drummer and a very brutal drummer. He can do all sorts of tricks on the drumset, but on some songs, he can beat the crap out of the drumset. Similar to Portnoy and Kirkpatrick, but in an European Metal band. Listen to "Fast to Madness", "Banished from Sanctuary", "Hall of the King", "Guardian of the Blind theme song", "Vahalla", "Journey through the Dark", "I'm Alive", and "Born in a Mourning Hall").
5. Lobezo (I can't remember his first name) - sLaYeR. (Brutal Thrash Metal drummer. On every song, except for a slow song or 2, he is beating the crap out his drumset just like Jayson Sherlock can do. On a side note: There are ONLY 2 and ONLY 2 sLaYeR songs that I like and that is it. "Angel of Death" and "War Ensemble". Their best 2 songs, and about the only songs from them that does not have questionable lyrics. Both songs are talking about how bad war is).
6. Nick Menza - MegadetH. (Thrash Metal drummer, but this guy can really go to town on a drumset. I personally think that he was better at drumming than Lars Ulrich from MetallicA ever was. Take a listen to the drumming on "Holy Wars - The Punishment Due", the ending instrumental part of "Hangar 18", "Take no Prisoners", "Polaris - Rust in Peace title song", and "Skin o' my Teeth" and you will see what I mean).
7. Chris Hyde - early DeliverancE. (Christian Thrash Metal drummer, but this guy could also really go town on a drumset. Not as technical as Ted Kirkpatrick, but on some songs, he is pounding away at the drumset. Listen to "Greetings of Death" (which is the clone copy of "Angel of Death" song from sLaYeR), "Flesh and Blood", "Awake", and "Bought by Blood").
There are other awesome drummers out there, but those are the fastest drummers and the most brutal drummers that I know of, that their drumming really sticks out.
My favorites:
Carter Beauford - Dave Matthews Band
Phil Ehart - Kansas
Barriemore Barlow - Jethro Tull (older days)

Ronnie Tutt--(Ronnie is currently touring with the "Elvis Presley In Concert" production as well as touring with Neil Diamond when his schedule permits). Ronnie (off and on) worked with Elvis from July 31, 1969-June 24, 1977).
D.J. Fontana--D.J. also worked with Elvis during Elvis's but only from 1956-1968
Bob Lanning (another guy who worked for Elvis in the early part of 1970 when Ronnie left the TCB Band due to a salary dispute--Ronnie returned to the band later that year).
Lars Ulrich
Larry Londin-possibly one of the greatest drummers (other than Ronnie Tutt-who is from the great state of Texas) to come out of Nashville.
Eddie Bayers--Nashville studio musician
Kenny Arnoff--Another great Nashville studio musician.
Owen Hale--Played drums for Lynyrd Skynyrd several years ago
Michael Cartellone (sp?)--current drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd
Artimus Pyle--former drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd
Bob Burns--Skynyrds original drummer (he played on the first three albums that Skynyrd recorded--if I'm wrong somebody can correct me)
David Weckle
Sheila E.
Mick Fleetwood
John Bonham
David Carr---Third Day :D :D :D
That's all I can think of right at the moment.....I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody.....
