John bought me BLACK, hmmm...last year I think. Anyway, it sat on my bookshelf for a while. I am a Ted Dekker fan, but his writing is so individual, I have to be in the mood to be taken to Dekker-land.

Anyway, I think I am 1/3 through Black...and I am thinking, gees this is original!
I am intrigued by the 'play fighting' type wooing between Rachel and Tom. Actually I find it plain ODD! But that's nothing unusual for Ted;)

I am wondering if anyone could enlighten me with any theory behind this story/series? Theologically or otherwise.
I know that there is nothing in a Dekker story that hasn't been deeply thought about. The allegory is always deep and sometimes I miss it. Well ok...often I miss most of it.

So I thought I would throw Black out into the conversation of books....

TTFN:)

I thoroughly enjoyed the Black, Red, White Trilogy. It was the first Dekker writings I've read. I like the way he writes and THINKS. Theologically, there's much more allegory in the last two books.
Be prepared to read them all. Black's ending is a cliff-hanger... and then so is Red's...

Ohh yeh! Cant read just one book in a trilogy!

Is Black, the Character, the same skelleton dude in Showdown?

I think there is an overlink of characters in some of the series. For some reason the name Black rings a bell.

No characters named black (there was a Sirius BLACK in Harry Potter). The color titles are reference to evil, war and good. I hope you're reading and ENJOYING!
