Good ones, Sharon. That's about what it felt like when I dished out $50.00 this morning. I guess I shouldn't complain because it had dropped to $2.89/gal in Beaufort, SC. I know I'll have to do it again on Friday......:P

$US1.00 = $AU1.19

Petrol in Canberra is 1.36 L atm

So... $AU1.36 L = $US1.14 L
$US1.14 L x 3.78 L (gallon) = $US4.31 gallon (In Australia)

$US2.89 Gallon = $AU3.45 Gallon
$AU3.45 / 3.78 L per gallon
= $AU0.91 L

Which would suit us MUCH better

I would venture to say that we're all paying too much. $2.89 a gallon is bad enough. Gas here is $3.50 right now.

AUSTRALIAN WEIGHTS AND MEASURES: Metric weights and measures are used. The Australian proof gallon equals 1.37 US proof gallons.
