So CV1 has finally made it's way to the land down under! I've watched the bootlegs a dozen or so times now and I've just got to ask........... What on earth are peg pants?????????????:confus ed:

Now, I am around the same age as the guys, but I've never been so fortunate as to be exposed to the glory of the peg pant, please can someone ease my pain?;)

"Also for boys are “Peg Pants”, which in one version or another have survived through generations of style changes. A typical peg is formed by cutting down a regular 18-inch trouser cuff to 15 inches and sharply tapering the pants leg to fit into it. A good peg is so tight the pants cannot be pulled on over the shoes."

Oh, so sorry I missed that little fashion treat!;) Am suddenly recalling visions of George Michael in a Wham! video wearing white pants that could only be these!

I am thinking of making you a youtube to show you. I am going to explain first.
You take the extra slack at the bottom of your jeans and fold it over so that it tapers, then you roll it up 2 times. It fits comfortably at the top of your socks, and a good peg pant doesn't come unrolled all day! In 1990, I wouldn't be caught dead without my pants pegged. (I was no where near the fashion queen, but I was in Jr. High and very concerned about things looking right.) I was peg rolling pants that were never intended to be pegged. It was like a nervous twitch always fixing the pants. I am not saying everyone did that, just me.

Does that paint an accurate picture?

We used to do that in the hospital if our scrub pants were too long. Didn't see it as a fashion statement, we just didn't want to trip over our pants.

You must have been posting that at the same time I was giving my explanation, that wasn't there before.
George Michael is right on the money!

Thanks everyone, now I do recall this fashion statement in Aus, think I may have even done it myself on occasion, but I don't think we called them that - Sandie, you might be able to help me out her.

While we're on the topic of fashion, I know this is mean to do to you guys, but Brad, what's up with those brown shoes, jeans and WHITE socks, if nothing else says early 90's, it's gotta be the white socks!!;) :o
And the era of wearing something that looked like your much bigger brother handed it down!! Love the 'poop' pants, cause they were so baggy it looked like you'd pooped in them they were hanging at the back.:D And I can't leave out Marks lovely array of 'sparkly' suits and what not over the years, and the mullet, mhmm, nice one!
Dave's vest and curls, he could've been a member of newkids on the block!
Tai, can't say I found anything to hilarious there, except the poor dancing style, but that's much improved!:D

Sorry guys, not picking on you, really, just glad none of you have access to my photo albums!!;)

I don't know which is worse, the great big pants that hang down with boxers in the background or the now a days pants. The ones that aren't big, but small and
short and offer the plumber look in the back. hmmmm.
