Here's my latest lyric. I'm hearing a BarlowGirl feel.
I Come to You
Broken and bent
Shattered and spent
I come to You … I come to You
Withered and worn
Tattered and torn
I come to You … I come to You
Chorus:
I come to You, Jesus
With nothing left to give
Take my lifeless soul
And help me live
I come to You, Jesus
For healing of my heart
I come to You, Jesus
I come to You
Battered and bruised
Useless but used
I come to You … I come to You
Lonely and lost
Tired and tossed
I come to You … I come to You
Chorus:
I come to You, Jesus
With nothing left to give
Take my lifeless soul
And help me live
I come to You, Jesus
For healing of my heart
I come to You, Jesus
I come to You
Bridge:
Only You can fill this emptiness
Only You can heal the pain
Only You can take this shaken life
And help me rise again, rise again
Chorus:
I come to You, Jesus
With nothing left to give
Take my lifeless soul
And help me live
I come to You, Jesus
For healing of my heart
I come to You, Jesus
I come to You

Yes, but first, I must mow the lawn.
;)
The verses remind me of Crowder's "Remedy".

Mowing the lawn is important.
So, what is this? The third Jason/Sean song?
This one was hard to craft with the alliteration/rhyme scheme I started.

It is #3.
The verses flow perfectly. What I've got so far is very meditative and singable. The chorus is tricky, but I think I've got it working. The bridge is gonna be cool.
If you've heard Chris Sleigh's "Empty Me", and can think of the bridge in that song, it's similar.

No, on that one he's playing his bass. It's tough to make it out. But having him hold down the low end frees the piano up to be more distinct. We did "Blessed Assurance" first that night, and he did play a six-string on that one. Versatile little fella.

Wait 'till you hear the one that's the title of this thread. ;)
Sorry to leave you hangin' right now. I've got to edit it down tomorrow, and I'll drop you an email when I've got it done. It's still in the beginning stages, plus the drummer we threw it at tonight didn't know it; but I think it gives a good, albeit rough, representation of the song.

I changed the filename of the song. If that link fails for anyone, let me know. It still works for me, even though it's a different filename.
Jason, are we going to have to make a "Listening Room" here? You rockstar. :D

I forgot to update you. About five months ago, Greyshades' band Humble Reed got to perform several songs on a television show called Atlanta Live. Here's a YouTube video of our song "I Come to You":

And yes that's Greyshades on vocals and lead guitar.
