Have you notice that now a days like every single teenager has a cell phone,
and they're like addicted to it.
Like its a drug or something ?
I suppose that being addicted to a cell is much better then being addicted to cocaine or something.
But where does it end ?
Like during class everyone is texting their friends, and not listening to the teacher. I dont blame them but its pretty sad to have to like text your friends when theres a classroom full of people to talk to.
KNow what i mean?

What's worse is that people use the word 'like' too much. ;)
Haha, sorry...couldn't help myself.

And what about the whole text messaging way of spelling stuff - Like Aaron, dude, what on earth does that line below you name decifer to be????? Sorry, but I spend more time trying to understand what people are writing to me and attempting to abbreviate words that in the end, I may as well just write them in their normal form!!
I know, I am a sad example of a young woman living in today's world!

It means "I am the owner". It's a parody of typical gaming language, I don't really talk like that :P. I agree, I like regular English better.

When I went to see 3D at Liberty University in VA last year, and was standing in line waiting to get in, I couldn't believe the number of people who were yakking on their cell phones the entire time they were waiting to get in. It really blew my mind. I knew most people use them on a regular basis, but to see that many people en masse using them all at the same time...
I suddenly felt the need to pull out my wimpy little TracFone that I use just for emergencies and call someone with it. I managed to resist the impulse, though, and didn't.

I don't text alot anymore... my friends mom found out me and him were texting in class and chewed him out, then called me and chewed me out.... but it's okay, she's like my second mother anyway...
Even when we did text, we used normal language... I can't understand the "Texting" language...
and yes, I always feel the need to whip out my Virgin Mobile (the serivce is horrible) and call someone... and usually I do.. which is why my account is running on a balance of $2.95 right now and will most likely stay there for the next month or so....:D

What's even worse is when your 8 year old cousin gets a pink John Deere razr for Christmas and she and your 11 year old cousin, who's had a cell for about 6 months, are sitting on the couch next to each other, taking pictures of the tv, and texting them to each other.

I don't like phones. I have a cell phone, but I wouldn't have gotten it if it were up to me. My dad just came home and handed it to me one day. My parents wanted me to have in case of an emergency. I don't talk on it much and I don't text because it costs too much. If I had unlimited texting I probably would. But I would definitely spell everything out. I don't use abbreviations much.

I agree. 8 year olds shouldn't even have cell phones. Not even an 11 year old. In my opinion anyway.

My 8 year old brother asks for a cell phone sometimes and my parents constantly tell him, "No. You're too young." I think I'd faint if they said anything else.

I didn't get a cell phone until I was 14 and that was only becuase I was away on trips alot, so my parents wanted to have a way to check up on me.
I really like my cell phone now. I hardly ever use it to talk though. It's mostly for taking pictures.:)

...and yes, I always feel the need to whip out my Virgin Mobile (the serivce is horrible) and call someone... and usually I do.. which is why my account is running on a balance of $2.95 right now and will most likely stay there for the next month or so....:DI actually swapped out my boring greenscreened TracFone for a Virgin Mobile Snapper phone last year (TracFone kept advertising all these great phone deals in my email, only to make them NOT available to me in my area for some reason, and VM actually had slightly better pricing and a better selection of phones available when it came time for me to renew with TracFone, so I switched), but where I never really had to contact customer service with questions or problems the whole entire time I had TracFone, I've already had to contact VM three times about three different issues, and only once did I get a response that was satisfactory out of them. Guess you get what you pay for. And that's apparently what $5 per month gets you.
Fortunately, I only use them for emergencies (I only initially got the TracFone when I was having fairly regular car trouble, and cell service to call AAA if I got stuck someplace while we were trying to figure out what was wrong with the car was cheaper than buying a new car) and to occasionally call my dad long distance (I do like that about having a cell phone, it costs me the same to call Dad 3000 miles away in CA as it does to call next door  ), so I can put up with their lousy customer service occasionally.

That's pretty lame...and expensive.
I have a TracFone, I got it mostly for my lawn care business. I haven't used it that much yet, but it's worked pretty well for me so far.

I have Cingular Go Phone, which is their pre-paid thing. I like my plan. It's worked out great, and I don't really talk on it all that much, so pre-paid was a better option for me.
I send texts every once in a while, and I usually spell most of it out. Most of those abbreviations are Greek to me...

That's why I got mine.. I started hangin' with my friends, and some of which are old enough to drive... so, my I bought my cell so I could keep intouch with my parents... otherwise, they would never let me do anything..

I got a cell phone for christmas. My family uses Metro PCS so fortunately we have unlimited everything. And the only reason I got that is because I was starting baseball for the highschool I play for and my parents needed a way to get in touch with me. Now we dont even use our home phone and communicate between the three cell phones (Mom, Dad, Mine)
I text a lot. I dont know the exact number but it has to be a high mark every day. Between teammates and my Best Friend I can get a high amount of texting. But I really dont talk on my phone a lot. Most calls are under a minute to take care of something.
And The Language depends on the length of the text and who I am texting.
I will use a lot of abbreviations to get all the words in a text. But if I can I spell most things out. Depends on how much room I have on the message.

A $20 airtime card gets you 60 minutes and 90 extra days until your phone expires. It was easier and better than the other prepaid services I found, but I didn't check into Virgin Mobile.
