As we celebrate the band's first five years of Reunion records in Chrono 1, I am curious to know a few things about your Third Day fan journey.
For example:

What year did you get introduced to Third Day?
What has been the biggest change in your life between the years of 1996 and 2001?
What was your fave cd from the first five years?
Did you attend a concert during the first five years?
What was your fave concert during the first five years?
Did you become a Gomer during the first five years? If so, what year?

1. I am pretty sure it was in 96 but my life was a fog back then. It was during the radio tour they were on duirng the first release of the Bus CD or cassette for me! I heard Mac singing Praise Song unplugged and live. So I pulled over and called the station to find out who he was and where I can see them.
2. My mom diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996. My brother dying in a plane crash in 1999.
3. This is hard. Like my children I love them equally just different. However, Time really ministered to me when my brother died.
4. Yes. The very next day after I heard them on the radio in 96 but then not again until Charlotte with Salvador.
5. Although the first concert was just a short set as they only one one cd out, I loved seeing how uncomfortable the grown ups were with having THAT kind of music in the church. I took my youth group. I swear I heard crickets after they finished Consuming Fire. The kids and I were afraid to yell. I wonder if the guys remember that?
6. After studying Mama Gomer's study, I became a bonafide Gomer in Nov. 2001.

1. My brother introduced me to 3D in 1996

2. Biggest change? I got married in 1996. I changed jobs in 1996 and again in 2001.

3. Time (still is my favorite!)

4. Yes. I saw 3D at a local church here in Garner NC in 1997. I saw them with DC Talk at a festival in Raleigh. I saw them at Extreme Fest in 1999 in Greensboro. I saw them at SonFest at Carowinds in 2000.

5. The show at the church. I got spit on by Mac because I was that close! (yeah that sounds gross but hey)...it was a great time! The ticket was $5!!!

6. I became a Gomer in February 2002 after I saw the Come Together tour in Fayetteville NC.

My wife really liked the track on the radio - I think it was consuming fire.
Changing jobs at my company and quitting my part time job. It gave me evenings at home!
Conspiracy #5(but this is a VERY hard choice)
I think my first concert was around 2000(?) - the "Time" tour.

2. I was in the service and was stationed in Germany from 1996 to 2002.
3. Time (by far my favorite)

I went to 2 concerts. One in an Orlando church and then the Charlotte one with Salvador. Not near enough.
The one at church. Loved how silent the audience was after they finished Consuming Fire.
Yes. 2001. After I studied Mama Gomer's study.

What year did you get introduced to Third Day?

1998. My friend played me Love Song. She also gave me the Exodus cd. I walked down the isle to Michael W Smith's Exodus. (The cd is lost now. Anyone know where I can get a copy?)

What has been the biggest change in your life between the years of 1996 and 2001?

I became a Christian in October 1997. I left home. I graduated from University with 2 degrees and honours in English. Met, fell in love, became engaged and then married the man of my dreams. Was baptised. hmmm. I had my first child, Elijah. I suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and revealed my abusive past thus began to receive healing.
That enough for ya?;) Oh! I had a HUGE car accident too. There IS more....but I think that will do.;) :D :cool:

What was your fave cd from the first five years?

That can change from moment to moment. I really like Time. When I am creating my art I have to listen to Offerings I. It takes me to that special place of worship. Conspiracy #5 will always have a soft spot in my heart because that was my 1st Christian cd & 1st 3D cd I had.
The Bus album is cool. I cant find myself choosing a favourite.

Nope. :(

What was your fave concert during the first five years?

errr....until January this year (when I saw 3D in concert) the only concert I have EVER been to was U2 Pop in 1998....but that doesnt count.;)

Did you become a Gomer during the first five years? If so, what year?

I signed up as a Gomer in 2005. So no, not in the 1st 5 years. I didnt know about y'all. But I am one of the original Aussies here! (I think:confused: )

1. 1996 - I heard them on the radio in New Zealand and bought The Bus at our local Christian book shop

4. No. Tried to get to Parachute in 2001 but we were doing a full time course and couldn't make it

1. 1994, i'm pretty sure... saw them at the strand, and invited them to play a show with us soon after that.
2. let's see... i got married, and had a child in that time...quite college... moved across the country....

Yes, I find that interesting cuz I though I was the only Old School Gomer(OSG) that found Time as my fave. I'm happy to see I am amongst such great company.
When the Chrono II forum is posted, I'll start a Chrono II thread with the same questions. I wonder what we will say then?
I wonder if the guys know how much we OSG's love Time so much?
