teresaUK told me about it:D
Have you heard of Hermie and friends? It is animations designed by the incredible Max Lucado. I knew about Hermie, but I didnt know about this particular episode.
I had a desire to go to the Christian bookstore in my town, for I felt the Lord say that the dvd was now there. I had asked Him for it. There was one copy! woohoo!
I am a blessed little girl.
Sure I wanted it, but I thought it would make an ideal birthday gift for little Caleb.;) Thats my story and I am going to stick to it! lol

It's an animated video for kids by Max Lucado.
From the publisher:
Reuniting the voice talents of Tim Conway, Don Knotts and Melissa Disney, Flo: The Lyin' Fly is poised for even greater success. Drawing from Proverbs 19:5, which says no one gets away with a lie, Flo the Lyin' Fly sets out to teach children, through incredibly humorous situations, entertaining songs, and cleverly written dialogue, the importance of telling the truth no matter what the circumstance. In addition to not fabricating lies, children will be challenged to not "cry wolf," or even embellish the truth just a little to make themselves look better. Joining the all-star cast is Third Day as the Water Beetles, Frank Peretti as Puffy the Dragonfly, and Vickie Lawrence as Flo!

This came up during the Mac Powell scavenger hunt we did in December for his birthday. Our Mac is a man of many talents! :)
Flo The Lyin' Fly
A story that tells the truth about telling lies.
Flo is always making up stories, playing tricks, and telling lies. Her friends no longer trust her. When Flo sees her favourite band The Water Beetles kidnapped, she hurries for help - but no one believes her, not even Hermie.
Another fun, inspiring and colourful tale from Max Lucado's Hermie & Friends series. Brightly illustrated and perfect for young readers, it's an exciting story that reminds children to always keep their promises, mean what they say, and tell the truth.
www.christianbook.com has it priced at $4.99 which is $10 off the retail price of $14.99.

We got it for our son last year - it's fantastic! The very BAD Liverpudlian accents aside (They are meant to sound like The Beatles). Sorry guys, but PLEASE don't do it again. Stick to your lovely accents next time :D We've been spreading the word about this great DVD to our friends. It's a great kiddies movie with a good moral. Along the Veggie tails line. ;)

It is a cute movie. They actually made a stuffed animal of Mac's character. I have one that he autographed for me back in I guess it was 2004. It sits on my computer stand. I tell everyone that it is my daughter's.

There is a video game that goes with it. It's called Hermie & Friends Flo: Return of the Water Beetles, and you can find it here: http://www.parable.com/familynet/item_0181826000044.htm
Dan got me the DVD for Christmas last year, and I'm ashamed to say I haven't opened it yet. But Stringo is on the shelf in my office near Rudy. :)

You do that....you'll love it. Despite the dodgy accents!! :o I've always wondered why David's voice isn't in the movie. He does come across as being shy, maybe that's it.

When is your birthday Liz?
Hey, Corrine, are 3D involved in the computer game? It doesn't say on that site. It looks great though. It seems perfect for Elijah.
Oh the poor little guy cried at school today and wouldn't tell the teachers why. Apparently all of the classes get to perform a song for their weekly assemblies/worship service. (He goes to a Christian School) His class isn't participating though and this broke his heart. It is his dream to perform his 'heart song' on the stage in the 'big church'. That's what he calls the Assemblies of God church. (Our own personal church doesn't seat more than about 150 people.)
Elijah's Call is in music and sharing about Jesus. He saw this as an opportunity. I promised I would talk to his teacher. I don't know what good it will do, but we will see.
This game, being based around the beetles concert seems ideal for my big guy. Thanks for showing me Corrine.

I wouldn't say he's shy....... but he can be very, very funny............ so it's probably more likely that he let the other's try to master the Liverpudlian accents ............. very wise man!

Joshua Movie Review
October 1, 2002
Review by Bob Williams
Joshua is one of those rare modern movies that doesn't have to resort to violence or elaborate special effects to maintain audience attention. This diamond in the Hollywood rough is simple yet multi-level in both character and plot.
The main character, Joshua, portrayed effectively by Tony Goldwyn, arrives in the small town of Auburn as a stranger who quickly develops a natural flowing rapport with most of the townspeople. Conflicts arise with a local Catholic Father played by Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham, who is religiously rigid and afraid of the new stranger's growing following.
Kurt Fuller plays the assistant priest, Father Pat, who is enjoyable because of his humor and his developing openness to confront his own personal obstacles.
Joshua's power is not just in his words but also in his humble actions and helping hands offered to the locals. Joshua is reminiscent of the 90's TV series Kung Fu The Legend Continues, less the martial arts. In that TV series, David Carradine, portraying Shaolin priest Kwai Chang Caine, also exhibited a familiar parallel modesty and a "help others for nothing in return" attitude which some people didn't understand…and what people don't understand, they many times fear. Move beyond that fear and the big picture becomes clear. The Catholic Father and his assistant both come to that crossroad.
This is not a fire-and-brimstone movie, rather, it is just the opposite. Joshua makes the powerful point that God is about love and not about fear, reinforcing this by proclaiming the Bible a love letter.
The musical soundtrack is peppered with songs from several noted artists including Michael W. Smith, Jaci Velasquez, Mark Schultz, Point of Grace, and Third Day. The music adds much to the overall warmth and spirit of the movie theme.
