(CV1 - That's what I'm calling it now. I'm going to be the first to coin that, because I'm tired of typing out Chronology Volume One and trying to remember if I'm putting enough o's in it.)
I'm liking the new mix of Forever. Maybe they will bring it back for the concerts. Remember when Mac used to divide the audience into three sections, one to sing each word "yesterday," "today," and "forever"?
The strings in the new version of Thief scared my dogs. :D

It sounds very cool, in fact, all I've heard off CV1 sounds awesome. I can't wait to hear the full cut of Nothing At All - it's one of my all time fav 3D songs

Just preordered last night, and listened to the stream this morning. Well, half listened, I was in and out of the room doing the usual Saturday chores; Audacity was hard at work though even while I wasn't in there. ;)
But the first thing that I thought of when the "listening station" came up and I saw the track list was "bonus songs?"
Is CV1 being release in other formats, like cassette tape, or something like that? It used to be that in order to entice you away from buying cassettes and to buy a CD instead, or to get you to buy CDs that you already HAD in other formats, CDs would come with "bonus tracks". Which makes perfect sense. Pay a little more to get a little more.
What makes THESE bonus tracks? Will there be other releases that don't come with the additional tracks? I guess cassettes are essentially a thing of the past, so the only thing I can think of is maybe you don't get those if you wait and buy the album on iTunes or something?
Just a really random thought that popped into my head this morning. :)
(And one even MORE random? Wouldn't it have been cool, since CV1 (and the future CV2) are retrospectives, to have done them in a limited edition VINYL LP version? I have visions of the matched pair of album covers being turned into framed wall art in Gomer houses all across the world. I know I would have bought a matched pair of CV 1 and 2 in vinyl without batting an eye. But then, I'm still hanging on to three original Shaun Cassidy LPs - among other vinyl embarrassments - so maybe I'm just weird. ;) )

Love the "CV1" thing you've got going! Anyway, I don't have mine yet (it's on its way) but I LOVE the new Theif (or, as much as I've heard)

Can't say I remember the audience thing, as I wasn't a fan back then ;) but I am loving the new version of Forever! Along with Nothing At All :D Both are up there in my favourite category of the Bus album.
Would love to hear either of them in concert!!!
Maybe one day

I've been out there Kevin. Unfortunately this week will be libarary internet access. Not only is there no audio speakers, not even headphone sound, but it won't even play. I know that is weird, who cares whether it plays if you can't listen? But it still seems odd the way they have these PCs set up.

So "Turn Your Eyes On Jesus" from Live at the Strand was just about when they signed with Gray Dot. Interesting...
Oops, sorry, this is more of a Third Day Radio, than CVI post.

Just a really random thought that popped into my head this morning. :) And this may have been a little random, but it wasn't rhetorical, I really AM curious about the concept of "bonus songs", does anyone know if CV1 WILL be released later, minus those last few "bonus" things?

I'm guessing no. The release price seems reasonable so I can't see them cutting out the extra and reducing the price.

I was just thinking like when it goes onto iTunes or something, if it'll be minus a few songs. Just seemed kind of odd to call them "bonus" songs, when every CD or album download will have them.
Don't mind me, I'm just being nitpicky this morning. ;)

How could I forget? Hearing Blackbird and Alien live from 98/99 really took me back to the old days. Was actually kind of an emotional experience for me hearing those old concert favorites...back when the hair was short and the glasses were thick...:D Been a Third Day fan since the Bus CD in 96 and finally got to see them in concert just before Time was released. I am SO THANKFUL for CV1! Is it right that it makes me hungry for MORE? After hearing Blackbird live I immediately found myself wishing for that whole St Louis concert on CD...just to recapture those early days again...so awesome...still, can't wait to hear what the guys are cooking up for their next studio album...in the meantime, let's all start holding our collective breaths for CV2!

I haven't listened to the entire CD yet, but I noticed that the remastering quality of both "Nothing At All" and "Forever" were way above and beyond most remastering jobs done by studios today. In fact, if I hadn't listened to "Nothing At All" a million times before, I'd say they rerecorded it. Excellent job, and I hope CV2 is entirely as good.

I think it was "Nothing At All", the third time, I'm like 'where did those backing vocals come from'? Maybe they were on the original and I'm just a horrible judge of sound.

The remix of Forever is awesome! Its my favorite. Nothing at all is really good too. The sound is just incredible. It really rocks my on car stereo! Just picked up CV1 at Target for only $11.97!! Giving it to my daughter as an Easter present. She is my Third Day concert buddy!

I would have gotten it for Easter if I hadn't gotten it with my own money. I considered waiting but I just couldn't! I absolutely LOVE this cd! I have it on almost all the time! :D

Tai did a post about the new mixes and how the mix engineer readjusts the levels which gives a new interpretation to the song. He specifically mentions Who I Am which is quickly becoming one of my favorites on CV1!

iTunes is offering the bonus song, "Forever (Live)". I'm bummed that I can't purchase it separately. Anyone know where I can buy it separately?

Sorry, Corrine - I don't have an answer for you. . . maybe someone else can help. I just wanted to throw in my $.02 on CV1:
Overall: Outstanding! (In my business, this is the highest rating that can be given)
I have not yet watched the DVD (I just got my copy today), but the album is everything I hoped for and more. The live tracks are definitely my favorites on the album! "Thief" was OK (don't hit me, please) - I just can't let go of the Offerings live rendition. "My Hope is You 2006" rocks my ever-luvin world! Finally, it was SO good that "Long Time 'Coming" and "She Sings In Riddles" are finally getting the distribution they deserved! It took me years to track down an affordable copy of Southern Tracks and now many more can experience the joy!
Thank you, gentlemen, for once again ministering to us and providing a powerful vehicle to share the message of Christ with the masses!
