Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you. :)

Why can't I listen to your Third Day Offerings II on my computer? When I insert the CD into the CD drive of the CPU, with Windows Media Player open, a 3 inch by 3 inch black box opens with tiny white letters across the top stating "PRESS ESCAPE TO QUIT" and a little grey bar in the center showing a play icon as well as rewind and fast forward. If I press the little play icon nothing happens. If I press either the rewind or fast forward icons, nothing happens. If I press the Esc key to get out of the little black box, I get a "Made with Macromedia" and then the little black box is gone.

I have MP3s loaded to a directory on the C: drive which I enjoy listening to; ideally, I would convert the songs on the CD into MP3 format and include them in my directory for listening, but that isn't an option either. If I open Windows Explorer, all the CD shows is four icons, "autorun," "Offerings2," "trailer" and an "xtras" directory which if opened shows "QT3Asset.x32."

I am working in a Windows XP environment. Please advise?

Thank you.

Wow, so THAT'S what the liner notes look like for this CD! It's been so long since I actually played the original CD, I'd forgotten what it looked like! :D

The little black box that comes up is the Macromedia Come Together video preview that was included on the CD. Why that actually doesn't play on her computer I'm not sure, unless she's missing a video codec or something. But when I popped the CD in MY CD drive just now, the black box popped up, and while I waited, the preview video started playing automatically, until I hit escape like it said and it went to that Macromedia screen and then closed by itself.

After that I just opened up Windows media player (I didn't have it open before I popped the CD into the drive), clicked on the "rip" tab, which brought up all the actual songs on the CD, leaving me free to rip them to MP3 if I wanted to, or if I highlighted them all, right clicked, and hit play, it added them to the tracklist and started playing the CD.

Kind of a roundabout way to play it or rip it to MP3 (I guess the video file is throwing things out of whack), but it works...

EDIT: Just tried putting the CD in again, with WMP already open. The video file started to play automatically again, but at the same time WMP automatically loaded all the songs from the CD into the tracklist. I just had to hit escape to exit out of the video file, then hit play and they started playing without a problem.

EDIT again: To avoid having the video file automatically open and start playing when you stick the CD in, on MY PC anyway, I can just hold the shift key down while I'm popping in the CD to override the autoplay function, then just open WMP after that which shows all the songs on the CD in the playlist ready to play.

Wow, it took me a long time to find my audio CDs (I usually work from the mp3s I've ripped onto my computer) - they were buried in the closet in my office.

There's no copy protection or anything on the disc, it's just an "enhanced" CD - it has a video on it, like T.U.G. described. Holding shift, as has been mentioned, will prevent the autorun of the video.

If I open EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de) to rip the disc, or WinAmp/WMP/etc. to play it, they all work just fine.

I checked out a Building 429 for the library and think it was because it was 'enhanced' is why I was having touble playing on my home DVD/CD player.

Thank you. I knew y'all would figure it out. I only have the pre-release copy of O2, so I couldn't check it for myself.

I sent Diane a link to this thread. Hopefully, she see your answers soon and can listen to Offerings 2 on her computer trouble free! :)
