"You guys in New York can’t get a hole in the ground fixed and it’s five years later. So let’s be fair."
Ya know, normally we come on this forum, and talk about prominant Christian Leaders with Foot in mouth desease...
However it seems that whenever Ray Nagin gets away from his handlers and in front of a life microphone he just can't help himself from making offensive statements...

This is one of the comments posted on that website in regards to the article...
I live in the suburbs of New Orleans and I am deeply, deeply embarrassed by Mayor Nagin's comments. New York City is a symbol of the strength, pride and success of this country. New Orleans, on the other hand, has a long and colorful past that is unfortunately filled with corruption and excess.
If it were not for the racial tensions here in the Big Easy, tensions exacerbated by the statements of Rev. Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, a different person would have been elected mayor. However, Nagin WAS re-elected and the city must again suffer the consequences of its own ignorance.

*emphasis mine*
This is one of the most enlightened comment I've seen in a long time.
People do the same things over and over yet expect different results.

Apparently politicians have a foot fetish, because they seem to love sticking them (feet) in their mouths. Here's another goof by a politician known as Tramm Hudson. This was at a Christian Coalition forum:

"A large number were black," Hudson said. "I grew up in Alabama. I understand, uh, I know from experience, that blacks are not the greatest swimmers or may not even know how to swim."

Ray Nagin is an idiot, and I hate to say that. I think the question posed to Mayor Nagin (how the heck was he re-elected???) should be, "Why does New Orleans still look like Katrina hit yesterday, a year later?" Lower Manhattan has been rebuilt and cleaned up, the PATH system for the subway has been fully rebuilt and is operational, the reason that "hole in the ground" still exists is because nothing has been built on it yet. Nagin is quick to blame everyone and anyone else for the absolutely horrific job he has done in New Orleans, but doesn't take any time to realize his comments are idiotic and the only reason he is still the mayor is because he is a Liberal African American.
Take it or leave it
