Blind guess - War of the Roses
Agreed, all battles are bloody.
My guesses would be... (casualty figures searched out on internet after choosing them)
Battle of Stalingrad 251400 casualties per month. (That's an average of 7500 per day).
Battle of the Somme 224000 casualties per month.
I would have thought the Battle of the Somme was the bloodiest - for a days fighting.
For amount of blood spilt in as short a period as possible, the first few days of the battle of the Somme takes some beating.
Soldiers marching at a walking pace towards machine guns, with orders to fix bayonets and not load their guns with ammunition. Even being handed footballs to kick along as they advanced.
result...
The BEF (British Expeditionary Force) suffered 58,000 casualties in ONE DAY(a third of them killed), therefore making it the worse day in the history of the British Army.
The offensive continued throughout the summer...

Battle of the Somme
First day of the battle, 1 July 1916. Ended, 18 November 1916.
Despite the slow but progressive British advance, poor weather – snow – brought a halt to the Somme offensive on 18 November. During the attack the British and French had gained 12 kilometres of ground, the taking of which resulted in 420,000 estimated British casualties, including many of the volunteer ‘pal’s’ battalions, plus a further 200,000 French casualties. German casualties were estimated to run at around 500,000.
Bloodiest Modern Battle (Death toll)
The greatest death toll in a battle has been estimated at 1,109,000 in the Battle of Stalingrad, USSR (now Volgograd, Russia), which started in the summer of 1942 and ended with the German surrender on January 31, 1943. Approximately 650,800 Soviet soldiers were wounded but survived.
Approx' seven months
1 109 000 Dead
650 800 wounded
1 759 800 casualties
251400 casualties per month.

Snopes is a great site, I have it in my favourites - I get lots of emails from friends who do not check their stories.
It has lots of great articles on Coke, particularly on controversies with Islam - which, when investigated turned out to be fraudulent forgeries made with the intention of damaging Coke's and the West's reputation in the Middle East.
What surprises me is that years later we discover they were most probably the first shots in a propaganda campaign by Islamists against the West and the press never made an issue about it..
