Why?

My stomach grumbling.
No reason. I'm just joking. I have music on all the time, so I always think it's wierd to not have any on. But not everyone is me, and I;m sure I could benefit from the quiet from time to time.

On second thought, I'd say you need some food.

Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson. I think it comes from the In Between Dreams album. I found this burned disk laying by the cd player at the coffee shop with only the words Jack Johnson written on it. I did a google search on a few of the lyrics to know what song it was. It belongs to someone else who works at the coffee shop, so I "borrowed" it with the intent to return it to the cd player sometime tomorrow. This is my first exposure to the music of Jack Johnson.

Shhhhhh. Don't tell anyone, but I kinda like it.

The Long And Winding Road by The Beatles from the Let It Be Album.

George played bass on this song, and he screwed it up really bad. According to Beatles legend, this is the song that made The Beatles break up.

I'm listening to Children of December by The Slip, which is being played on Reg's Coffee House (streaming online). Starting the last week of November, they'll be on a short tour with My Morning Jacket (a band from Louisville KY).

I'm right now listening to/watching a Sufjan Stevens video called Romulus on YouTube. I've become such a huge Sufjan fan since seeing him on Austin City Limits last weekend.

The coolest thing about Sufjan is that I can't hear any of his influences in his music. Like the other day I was listening to a band from the UK called Porcupine Tree, and the first thing I heard in their music was Pink Floyd influence. I don't hear anything in the music of Sufjan. It's not very often that you find an artist like that. I also can't hear the influences in the music of REM. Perhaps someday Sufjan will be as big as REM.

Awww Man! I've gotten myself into a Bluegrass mood, and I've just piled up my bluegrass cds. I have at least 17 in this pile (most from local bluegrass bands), and I'm missing 2 or 3. That's about 20 hours of music, and that doesn't count my "old-timey" music cds. When I say "local" bluegrass, I'm talking about some of the best Bluegrass bands in the nation. Since where I live is the home of bluegrass music, we have some of the best bands. I'm friends with most of them 'round here.

I'm in an office with other people, and I don't wear earplugs. They're in for it today!

The song right now is called Deep Dark Holler In Kentucky by a band called Kentucky Blue on their cd called Working For The Weekend. Deep Dark Holler was written by a really good friend of mine called Wes Maynard who is in another local Bluegrass band called PickinTime.

I hadn't heard some of those songs in years, but I still remembered almost every word. Except for "Dance of the Cucumber." I used to be able to sing that song all the way through (yes, in Spanish), but I had forgotten all of it. I need to brush up on it.

I'm friends with a band that either did a small tour with them or played at least one show with them. They asked me to check this band out again.
