Since we don't have one, I figured I'd make one. Here's where you come on and say "Hey look, I've got this blog/website that I think is great, and I don't have any/few readers/visitors. I put a lot of work into my blog/site, and I want people to see it!"

Come here and post it!

My blog (with the new layout) is at http://inexorablyloved.wordpress .com, and my website you should visit (with nearly all original content) is http://thirddayfans.net

:)
Post your links!

Wow. I'm still reading Sarah's blog.

Everyone, go read Sarah's blog and fall in love with Jesus all over again.
I've been there. I agree; it's quite well-done. She has a gift.

Mine is www.middletree.net. Studies on various biblical topics, mostly.

Sarah:

What are you using to build your pages? I assume the Blogspot one had some sort of predefiend template for you to choose from, but the other one seems to be a domain that you own. Am I correct? If so, are you a Dreamweaver person, or do you hand-code?

Blogger has predefined templates, but the template I have now I did on my own. I started off with the Blogger template, but have had around 4 other versions, most all my own.

Now Third Day Fans.net I did all on my own. I'm not under any illusions that it's a great site--I made it for my final project in my "Intro to the Internet" class. I've never used Dreamweaver, I code all my stuff by hand, as bad as it might be;)

I still do mostly hand-coding, but what makes DW special is the extensions out there which are designed for DW users. www.projectseven.com and www.interaktonline.com, just to name two.

I used to use DW but it messed up my coding and I found that it's a lot easier just to code by hand. (for me anyway)

Any IDE, whether it's Net Objects Fusion, FrontPage, GoLive, or DW, will write some code its way. You ar correct that hand-coding the the best. However, if you have DW, there are all those extensions which enable you to build some items very quickly while still having good code, because the good people at Project Seven and Interakt happen to have great respect for W3C standards.

http://www.samandelise.com/ for Elise's and my page. It's all still basically left over from the wedding. 100% hand-coded ASP running on an Apache server (Sun ChiliSoft ASP is serving up the ASP) (the CSS is also hand-coded). The pages all load out of a database and the system I coded allows for me to log-in and edit/add/link pages. There's also a phone-list, duties page, etc... the RSVP system was 100% on-line (for adding invitations and for the actual rsvp-ing... we even printed off awesome-looking envelopes using the online database). I did use somebody else's code to do the random picture that loads out of a pool of photos I configured. Oh, and the Coppermine Photo Gallery was also not authored by me.

http://www.stjoesyouth.org/ This is the webpage I built for our youth group. It's based on WordPress and a customized template. Note: don't bother attempting to register to view the photo galleries at the Youth Website (feel free to look at the samandelise.com photos, though) since I will just reject it. Due to current restrictions, I can't allow non-group-members and their families to view photos. That will eventually change, but we have to work on it/be careful (any parents will understand). Sorry!

...I did, didn't I? I seriously haven't laid a hand on that site in 2 and a half years. My goal this summer is to re-write the backend code on the site and make it easier to use. It doesn't need to be a full-on fansite when I don't have time to do that. I'm probably just going to cut it back to being a tab site.

We've put this website up to help promote some of the local artists here who struggle to sell their work and also to help provide finance for our family so we can continue to work as volunteers, (kinda like Paul did when he made tents to help bring in some income as he travelled.)

It is a nice color scheme, Sarah. Very nice.

May I offer a bit of advice? As a web guy, I have found that many users complain when they see some underlined text and find out it's not text. So it's becoming a bit of an informal, unofficial "no-"no" to have underlined text these days. Your posts have a few examples. Near the top, for instance, someone might think that the name "bob" is a link to a picture or another article about a guy named Bob that you are referring to.

I'm just sayin'...

mercyGurl

That wasn't my post--I had just copied it from another guy's blog and left his formatting as-is. :)

I have a new website related to all my writing.

The site is about my Christian Sci-Fi/Fantasy series. I have three, double-length books published in my first series. I have over half-a-million words of story in those three books (around 553,000 words), so they're not light reading. I also have free short stories and poetry. There's also updates on what I'm working on now.

I have a thread in the Creative Arts sub-forum where I discuss them.

Thanks,
