OK i think a duck cuz think of all the classic ducks we have in our world today...
Daffy Duck/Donald Duck/Duck Dodger (arguably Daffy Duck)/the entire Ducks of the Future cast/Joey's duck, Duck in Friends
the list goes on, anyway a chicken would run away!!!!!!!!

Hard to say... its easy to speculate that the chicken would be too "Chicken" to even show up for the fight. THen again the other participant might duck the whole thing too.

Chicken. Have had alot of experience with chickens mean little buggers. If I have a choice of eating either of them prefferable duck.

I've seen a few chicken fights in my years here in SE Asia - no way a duck would last - I'm presuming that it would be a male chicken, not a female.... Before we came here I thought it was a really cruel thing, but they don't fight to death, not even to large amounts of damage, the roosters are worth too much ;) :) Beautiful creatures :)

I have to agree with 1inamillion.

I would like to think that a duck would be too civilsed to fight.

Hopefully, they would have a few rounds and then make friends!

Hmm, I'm going to say the chicken. There is no doubt that the duck is smarter, however should the event occur where they would be forced to fight each other, the chicken has the tactical advantage. A duck is cunning, but the chicken is well equipped with talons and a sharp beak as opposed to webbed feet and a blunt face. Ducks are good at biting. I know because I've been bitten, but the chicken has more plumage, therefore more cusion and more difficult for the duck to actually bite down on something vital. The ducks best bet is to use arial attacks ie. dive-bombing because chickens are more than challenged by flight. In the end, though, my money's on the chicken although I'll root for the duck.

Not talons so much as spurs... like a dew claw.

Usually 1/3 the way up from the foot. Sometimes as long a 1 1/2"

The duck would win, hands down.

Not only is he smarter, he is also more calm and less likely to lose his mind and give himself a heart attack and lose all of his feathers like the chicken would. While it is true that the chicken would have a better defense, there is no means to say that the duck is without its own feathers for protection. The duck also is more mobile than the chicken, being able to fly and swim. He also has greater wing strength, as to use to blow something into the chickens eyes. There are other advantages to the duck, too...but I have to leave right now.

Oh yeah, a quack can be ten times as scary as a "cluck" or whatever other kind of sound chickens make.

I'd say duck. I agree chickens would run or fly.

My husband was riding with his boss in a golfcart one day during duck season (wabbit season- no duck season- sorry bugs bunny moment) and they came up on a bunch of ducks. Boss was driving and sped up on them thinking they would fly out of the way. Didn't happen. He ran over 4 of them. My husband with the snappy comback told him to back up over 1 more and he would have his 5 for the day.:D

ExtravagantlyLoved

You can't be OCD. You can have OCD. It's a disorder, not a characteristic.

NurseBettyLu
03-18-2007, 02:22 AM
I consider it to be a matter of degree. I know people who are indeed the physical personification of ocd. My sister tells me if there was an ocd pageant, I'd at least win Miss Congeniality. I don't know where she gets this, as I correct her verb usage. No, if there WERE....

ExtravagantlyLoved
03-18-2007, 02:33 AM
Exactly. That bugs the fire outta me. Or if I want to represent my true accent "fire" sounds more like "far."

And there's the your/you're thing. "Your" shows possession. "You're" is a contraction. There's a clear difference.

NurseBettyLu
03-18-2007, 02:40 AM
Same thing wth its and it's. And don't get me started on pronunciation.

ExtravagantlyLoved
03-18-2007, 02:48 AM
Pronunciation depends with me. I love accents, so if you pronounce something different because of your accent, then I find it very endearing. Some things just bother me, though. Like the word "pecan." The accent is on the second syllable and the "a" sounds more like the "o" in "con" and not like the "a" in "can." It's things like that that bother me.
