I know this question has been asked a million times, but I always found everyone's answer interesting. So, besides WYA, what else are you listening to? As for me: Jeremy Camp's " Stay " is in my cd player in the house and Todd Agnew's " Reflection of Something" is in my car. I also like Casting Crowns' "Life Song".

As I'm writing this I'm listening to Todd Agnew--"Reflection of Something". I've been listening, a lot, to Petra--Petra Farewell. It's still hard to believe they're retiring after 33 years of ministry. I've been listening to their music for over 20 years.

My car cd player has "Merry Christmas With Love" by Clay Aiken at the moment. Before that it had Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Carrie Underwood and Relient K's Apathetic EP. I believe in variety.

I've been listening to TSO and Pillar a lot on the computer lately.

Shadow Gallery- Room V

Blistering Progressive Rock with Christian themes.

Room V is the continuation of the Tyranny saga. Tyranny is the story of a man swept up in the Govt during the beginning stages of the end times.

Thought provoking, melodic rock with a deep concepts and clever songwriting.
One of my favorite bands.

At the moment, a homemade CD of songs our "country band" (that I was part of) did in church.

Not the versions we did either, the originals. I'd be scared to listen to our versions we tried to do on Sunday mornings for the all too short time we had an actual country gospel band in one service.

Here are some of the songs on my CD:

My Rock
Be Like Noah
God's Will
Halfway Home Cafe
I've Got A Mansion

The list goes one for a while. And this CD doesn't consist of all the songs we tried to do, just the ones I liked.

That's what I'm listening to, also. :) I'm kind of glad he didn't win (even though I think he was the most talented person on the stage) because I don't think he would have been able to Bo Bice stuff if he had gotten the title of American Idol. I'm still drawing maps of Wytheville Virginia. In Wytheville there is a road called Winding Road. On my map I wrote for the road name The Long And Winding Road just to see if the guy doing qc will see it. I don't think he knows anything about the Beatles, so he probably won't get the reference.

Anyway, since I wrote that I thought I would check online to see which album that song is on, so I looked at beatles-discography.com. I found out some additional information about the song that I didn't really know. The studio production of this song is part of what caused the Beatles to break up. John Lennon played bass on the recording of the song, and John really screwed up the bass line. Phil Spector was producing the album Let It Be, and he took liberties with The Long and Winding Road without Paul McCartney's permission; Phil added an orcestra and woman's choir, and through this, he drowned out the song. According to Phil he was trying to drown out John's hidious bass playing.

When I was a teenager my older brother bought a box set of the Beatles on tape. It has all of the UK releases of Beatles albums. I just happen to have it with me at work. So that was my very long story to tell you that I'm listening to Let It Be.

A rehearsal CD for Choral Society - it has the Alto part played with pipey type keyboard (yuck) and the songs are all Broadway ones - the boys hate it when I play it when they are in the van and then I sing along with the Alto part which is usually NOT the melody so sounds weird!!! :) :)

Given the fact that every time I say "Third Day" here, I still always get a blank stare in return, it was a surprise to find someone else - in a completely unrelated forum - who actually knew who they were. :)

http://www.dustinburkeband.com

I have seen the Dustin burke band several times and they are even better Live than on cd. I hear they are actually going to be coming out with yet another cd that will be even better than their first one. I live in the same town as them and I've been hearing on the radio that they are going to opening for the David Crowder Band towards the the end of this month. I went and found their web site and it's true. I'm definently gonaa be checking them out.

I just got two new cds by Miles Davis. One is Bit@#es Brew (one of the most influencial albums of all time), and the other is Kind of Blue (another most influencial). Miles Davis was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

What I mean by "NEW" is that I just got them. Kind of Blue was released in 1959, and Bit@#es Brew was released in 1970.

(Look past the screaming and the squealing in the singing, and the music is outright AWESOME and outstanding. You can't understand 1 word the singer is screaming. So you don't have to worry about the lyrics, b/c you can't understand a word the singer is screaming anyways, but it is the music itself that makes up for it and the music is completely awesome and beautiful. Most beautiful and most epic sounding Dark/Black Metal I have ever heard).

The CD was the "Dusk and Her Embrace" CD.

Very beautiful symphony orchastra music and overall Power Metal guitar playing and drumming music put to Gothic lyrics and Gothic themes, and screaming / squealing singing that you can not understand a word of.

I'm totally into music where the human voice (or voices) are used as instruments, rather than necessarily speaking/singing a message. This is one of the reasons I got the Lord of the Rings soundtrack (the original, not the one done by MASK). I'm amazed at how vocals CAN be such incredible music. Enya (Eithne) does an incredible job with this -- sometimes you cannot tell where her vocals start/stop and the instruments take over.

This said, I'm not a huge fan of A cappella, per se. I like voices with instruments much better. I've always wondered what would happen with a heavy metal band if you added, say a really good opera soprano, tenor, or both!

Yes, as a matter of fact, it is. I still have a fine collection of RECORDS. I still have an 8-track player that works, and several tapes for it. In fact I am so ancient I can remember records made out of WAX!

My first car had an 8-track player in it, and it worked. I was the only one in my school that had one.

Yeah, wax. I still have a few in my collection. Sound quality not so good anymore, but they're over fifty years old, it's a wonder they exist at all. You have to be careful how you store them. If they get too hot they will melt. And they are so brittle, well, they don't get played much anymore. Prefer cd's. Playing Jars of Clay's Who We Are Instead.

Interesting. Never heard of wax records. Learn something new everyday.
