Awhile back I posted a Leno vs Letterman, 'cause apparently Leno is beating Letterman in the ratings. Well, tonight I believe Letterman will come out on top. Why??? He finally got Oprah to come on his show; and he has been trying for 3 years or more. It should be a good show...

Who knows?

Maybe Oprah will boost Letterman's ratings by running out onstage and jumping on his couch while screaming,

"I'M IN LOVE!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

I love Dave but Queen Oprah really grates on my nerves. He has been trying to get her to come on the show for years and she kept refusing. I think her finally coming on the show was her idea becasue she thought it would be a good way for her to promote the broadway musical version of The Color Purple that she produced.

Personally I thought it would have been great if he would have told her thanks but no thanks, and told her to promote the play on her own show.

I liked it. Dave was very genuine, and Oprah was clearly expecting some smart-aleck, and she got a real human being. She didn't know what to do.

I am with Kyle's dad. Oprah gets to me. She's a man-hater.

I'm glad Dave behaved himself.
I wonder what he'll have to say about it next week...lol ;)
As far as Oprah's a "man hater" - I think she has issues in her life just like all of us.

...I recorded it to. I was happy to see Oprah on Letterman last night, the only thing that was missing was Dr. Phil. Dave was very nice to Oprah, even walked her to her own show 'Color Purple'. And it was funny to see Oprah give Dave a signed photo of her and Uma.

Somebody answer me this. She kept insisting that there was no feud on her part. Then why, for 16 years, did she repeatedly refuse to go on Dave's show? Why in a 2003 interview with Newsweek did she say that she refused to go on his show.

I will concede that I was somewhat impressed with her passion for helping those less fortunate than her. But I still think she is an egomaniac, and I think for her this was much more about promoting her play than burying any hatchet.

She said there was no feud, but I think there was. But hey, she seemed like she wanted to be there, on Dave's show. So, whatever the feud was about...its over.

Just a question...anyone heard the ratings about the Letterman show that night...bet alot of folks watched....

i saw a little of it...glad Dave was nice....Oprah, I think was nervous a little...she tried to be too...sophisticated...may be that's not the word I am looking for...just wasn't herself...

Maybe one day Dave will write a book about it and we will at least know his side of the story..then Oprah can review it....hehehe..

just picking..

First off....it was a joke, ok?

Secondly.....it's not "what" you said...it's "how" you said it. I didn't expect to see responses from men in here knowing that most men either strongly dislike her or could careless.
I just saw a bit of humor in how y'all responded....and thought it was "safe" to pick.

Please take it with a grain of salt.

Please note that I wasn't feeling picked on. I was trying to continue the conversation that you started, by asking for which things we said which you were referring to. I don't doubt for a minute that we might have been gossipy-sounding. I'd have laughed right along with you once they were pointed out. But since I didn't know exactly what you were referring to, I was kind of lost.
