Unknown stormtrooper hitting his head on a low doorway in Ep. 4.

A round of applause please for Mr Jason. :D :D :D

When the group of stormies enter the command room where C3PO and R2 are hiding, the stormtrooper on the right fails to duck and hits his head on the rising door. In the DVD version they have added a grunt.

Your turn kind sir!

My turn, then. Lemme think...

Can questions be from the EU(Extended Universe)?

If so:

Who was Jedi Master Adi Gallia's apprentice?

If not:

What was the name of the captain that Senator Organa left R2-D2 and C3PO in the care of at the end of Episode III?

You can answer either one(or both!)...I was just not sure about the whole EU thing...I have read some of the books and I do not know if they count!

From the rules in Post #1:

Official Resource List:
Any of the original movies
Any original novelization of the 6 Movies
Any of the Star Wars "Visual Dictionaries" or "Incredible Cross Sections"
"The Complete Unauthorized Star Wars Trivia Challenge"
Star Wars Encyclopedia
"The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels"
"The Essential Guide to Characters"
"The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology"
"The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons"
"A Guide to the Star Wars Universe"

*Any of the other books/novels that take place before or between the trilogies or after Return of the Jedi don't count, cause they are not entirely based on George Lucas's original stories; Examples would be; 'Shadows of the Empire', 'Jedi Academy', 'X-Wing Series', 'Thrawn Trilogy' etc.

Oh! I totally missed the rules and went straight to the last page. Thanks Jason!

Disregard Question 1, then! (unless you know it and want to answer)

What was the name of the captain that Senator Organa left R2-D2 and C3PO in the care of at the end of Episode III?

Captain Antilles, the same guy that Vader threw against the wall in the Tantive IV in A New Hope.

The same guy? I have always assumed Captain Antilles was Wedge Antilles? He is a fighter pilot in Red Squadron and went on to become Rogue Squadron Leader in the Expanded Universe.

When the rebels were in the garbage masher on the first Death Star, after R2 D2 shut the masher down, some one called out an identification number for the masher. What was that number and who was the one that called it out?

ChristinChic788

Han Solo tells Luke that they are in Three-two-six-eight-two-seven.

Next question... What is the name of the creature that was alive in the trash masher?

Aussie3rddayfan

I'm going to guess 7?

Nope. It is significantly higher than that. Think about it. When Han leaves the Death Star in the Falcon he shoots off 4, then there is the Battle of Yavin, and the ESB, and then the Battle over Endor. PLus the ones in between of course.

If you want a hint highlight the clue here >> Less than 40 but greater than 15

Very close. I'll pay that. The total number of destroyed TIEs in the trilogy is actually 26. Here is a rundown:

- four during Falcon's escape from first Death Star
- four in ensuing battle
- four in Anoat asteroid field
- fourteen during the Battle of Endor

Who told Tarkin that they'd gotten to Dantooine?

OFFICER CASS: Our scout ships have reached Dantooine. They found the
remains of a Rebel base, but they estimate that it has been deserted

TARKIN: She lied! She lied to us!

ObiShawn
06-16-2006, 07:48 PM
Yeah, there have been a couple of LotR Trivia threads in the past, they don't seem to last. I'm actually surprised this SW Trivia thread has lasted this long. I'll see if I can find the LotR thread and bump it. Maybe you can get it going again.

I would love a LOTR thread. Problem is, many on the boards got Tolkien overload during the thre years that the movies were being focused on. There were lots of threads and I think people got tired of hearing about it. I would love to see one though! :D

I think if we start another LotR thread you can't take it too far with Tolkien, movies, books etc. because it would die. Maybe the rule will be if you ask a question that is in the movie but different in the book, the book always trumps the movie. I'll quit talking about it on Star Wars, didn't mean to hijack.

I want to say that there is another that explodes as well, but I can't recall any details about ti at all.

The SSD counts; I saw only two including it. One standard SD is blown up in the background just after the Millenium Falcon and Co. enter the Death Star, and the SSD follows not too long after. If you spotted another then please let me know becuase I would have missed it. In other words, there are only 2 destroyed to my knowledge. Your turn. :D

Okay, I realise I have only been in and out of this thread but here is a tricky question.

During the battle between the Jedi and the Trade Federation on Geonosis there is a Jedi who fights with two lightsabers (one green, the other blue) in the background. How many times is he seen on screen?

Be aware: you will need to watch the background of the battle very carefully and in slow-motion.

I know it IS a hard question but you will get to appreciate this battle on a new level if you watch how incredibly complex - and well choreographed - this battle really is. Enjoy! :D  :D

I got the Empire Strikes Back one, b/c it is my favorite movie of all-time even though I have seen it a million times and know most of the quotes in the movie.

I got it mostly just to get the original 1980 verision of the movie.

That original verision is almost impossible to find now.

I have been looking around for that original verision for 3 years and I never did find it, but now that Lucas is more money-grubbing and comes out with another STAR WARS box-set just so he can make a cheap buck, but still, this one unlike the other ones, has the original movie.

Finish the sentences / quotes:

2. "You are not actually flying into an asteroid field?!" (What is the quote right afterwards?)

3. Never tell me the odds!

5. ?
6. No, there is another.
7. I think you may have made a typo. It's "Welcome young Skywalker, we have been expecting you." FROM ROTJ
8. No disintegration. As you wish.
9. Apology accepted Captain Needar

Which iconic scene from Star Wars has become recognized as the cultural symbol of the entire saga?

HINT: Think about it carefully. Don't automatically jump to your first answer. Which classic scene from from the saga would identify the culture of what the story is about? In other words, if you could sum the saga up in one scene which one would it be?

ChristinChic788

I would say one of the final scenes, that shows Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda as spirits with Luke looking on. I believe that it sums up the Star Wars Saga, because even though Anakin turned evil in the end good prevailed.

So Ausie, are any of those right?

All good answers, and yes, one of them is right. The scene actually appears in the saga twice, but the original scene, in A New Hope, is regarded as the iconic cultural symbol of the Star Wars saga.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/72/SW_binary_sunset.png

http://www2r.biglobe.ne.jp/~jediduke/epi4/images/luke_sunset.JPG

It is of course the binary sunset scene, where an upset Luke Skywalker reflects on his short life and yearns for something more as Tatooine's two suns sink below the horizon. The scene is comprised of two parts; the panoramic binary sunset shot, and the up close of the future Jedi hero.

Green is also incorrect. A green saber appears in only FOUR episodes (1-3, 6). In Episode 4 and 5 Luke's saber is blue. At the end of TEBS Luke loses his blue saber in his duel with Vader. He then makes new one for the final movie as evidenced by Vader's comment: "I see you have constructed a new lightsaber." That said, a blue saber doesn't appear in Episode 6 so it can't be that either..

In "A New Hope", when the stormtroopers knock on the door where C-3P0 and R2D2 are at, there are 3 stormtroopers outside of the door when it opens, but how many stormtroopers walk into the room?

I think it is two, right?

3 Stormtroopers are outside the door, but 2 stormtroopers walk in the room.

New question: What happened to the 3rd Stormtrooper?

(Hint: Next time you watch that scene, pay attention and look at the right side of the screen and you will see it. It is absolutely hillarious. :D It is one of the little almost un-noticeable mistakes in the STAR WARS movies).

I think I actually asked this question a while ago. The third stormie bumps his head on a bulkhead just in front of the door. They added a bumb and grunt to the DVD edition as a bit of a laugh. New question coming soon...

He not only hits his head on the top of the door, but he also falls back and hits the floor too. :D

You will see him falling back after hitting his head on the top of the door.

The door only opens half way, the other 2 stormtroopers kneel down and walk in. The 3rd stormtrooper walks straight into the door itself.

OK, here goes. Sorry about the wait. How many Imperial ships follow the Millenium Falcom into the Asteroid field in the ESB?

Including Tie fighters, and bombers, or just the Star Destroyers?

Why don't you have a go? When seeker pops in next he can ask one too. You can give me one of the tricky, must-watch-the-movie-to-get-it questions that I ask you guys if you wish. It's only fair! :D

Ok. Here's one.

What ship can be seen in the special edition, newly mastered edition of A New Hope flying out of the Mos Eisley docking bay as Luke and Obi Wan enter the city?

That would be Wedge's Outrider Corellian Transport. It looks sort of like the Millenium Falcom but not quite (I remember flying it in X-Wing Alliance and it was called at YT1400?). I think was in previous versions of the film however.
