Elat, Israel

"The southernmost city in Israel. Elat is Israel's port to the Orient. It's next door neighbor is Aqaba, Jordan, and the cities almost join together at the border. Located on the Red Sea, which is also called the Gulf of Elat. The Coral World Underwater Observatory is where you can see beautiful fish and how they live. The Aquarium was one of the first 'People Aquariums' which lets people into a large underwater Plexiglas bubble to view the fish as the fish look at the people. "

Oracle, AZ

Oracle is the home of Biosphere 2, featured in the movie Biodome, an enclosed building environment with an ocean, a desert, a farm, etc, which was orinally opened in the early 90s, to scientifically study the effects of a man made environment, the first people in here did not come out for 2 years after that the next scientists did not come out for a year, this place is still scientifically studied, but I don't think people live in it, just studied, with hopes for this kind of thing in space, like on the moon. It's called Biosphere 2, not because there's another one, but Biosphere 1 is our own earth, a living biosphere.

The Entrance, Central Coast, New Sout Wales is a holiday town which is beautifully situated where Tuggerah Lake empties into the Pacific Ocean. People can eat meals outside in the closed off main street overlooking the lake, and the Pelicans are fed every day at 3:30 pm. A lovely, relaxed town for a holiday.

Eltham Victoria, Australia.

Nice little 'town' (just far enough out of Melbourne not to be thought of as a suburb), my parents live in Eltham.

Eltham is a quiet place, lots of gum trees and birds, a nice main street with the typical shops found outside the city.......
My norwegian in-laws just returned from visiting my parents in Eltham. They thought that there were many more birds and animals in Oz than in Norway.

They are correct, I thought I'd see a moose up at the family cabin in the mountains every time we visited. so far only three in five years!

See ya mates........ this time last year I was getting VERY excited about seeing Third Day in Melbourne :D ........ now I'm sking and walking in the snow! ;)

Kiama (pronounced KI-a-ma) on the South Coast of New South Wales. George Bass, an early explorer discovered the Kiama Blowhole, a volcanic blowhole, in 1797. It's a well known tourist attraction and when the sea is rough, the water really comes up with a "woomph." The South Coast is my old stomping ground, so I know Kiama well. :)

Whoa. My grandma had a cottage like 50 yards from Lake James Christian Assembly (it's now my uncle's). I visited her on the lake a few times and we sometimes ate dinner at the Assembly. A camp counselor even gave me my first Bible when I was seven. Oh, you brought back memories.

Sydney, Australia of course, home to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, also called "the Coathanger." It's the world's largest but not longest steel arch bridge and the top rises 134 metres above the Harbour.

The idea of joining the North and South of Sydney by building a bridge was thought of in 1815. The Bridge was opened in 1932. It cost three pence for a horse and rider to cross the Bridge at the time. It's $A3 now, but only in one direction.

Paul Hogan the actor used to be a painter on the Bridge.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge forms the centepiece for all fireworks celebrations on the Harbour.

Niagara Falls, NY

Home of the largest falls in North America Niagara Falls. Where many crazy people have braved the currents, and gone over in barrells, one guy walked across it on a tightrope. Some people who have gone over in a barrell like a woman have lived to tell about it, others have met their death. Of course many people already know this,. :)

About my picture: "Jean Lussier, originally from Quebec and living in Niagara Falls, New York challenged the Falls on U.S. Independence Day in 1928. This machinist's successful trip was in a rubber ball. Self designed, this 1.8 metre (six foot) ball was lined with rubber tubes filled with oxygen.
On July 4,1928, after taking some hard knocks in the upper rapids, it skipped perfectly over the Falls. One hour later, Lussier stepped ashore below the Falls none the worse for wear.
Displaying his ball at Niagara Falls for many years, he sold small pieces of the inner tubes for fifty cents a piece"

Whoa. My grandma had a cottage like 50 yards from Lake James Christian Assembly (it's now my uncle's). I visited her on the lake a few times and we sometimes ate dinner at the Assembly. A camp counselor even gave me my first Bible when I was seven. Oh, you brought back memories.

Here's my grandma's cottage (in white). Lake James Christian Assembly would be 50 yards to the left.
That's cool. I never went to LJCA as a camper, but, I believe, as a kid I was there with my parents when my dad(who's a minister) was part of the faculty for a week's session. I was at the camp again several years ago(@1995)to visit a friend who was working there for the summer.

The place where Bugs Bunny should have turned right at!

I was in Albuquerque in 1993 and turned left to head north into Colorado (I was comeing from the west).

Of course if I was comeing from the east I would have had to turn right for Colorado or if I'd come from the south I'd have to keep heading north to Colorado, but then if I had come from the north I'd have to turn 180 degrees to get to Colorado (and could have done that by either turning right or left!).

On the other hand.......... no, that's all.........

My uncle & aunt live here, love this city. It's the state capital of North Carolina, named after explorer Sir Walter Raleigh. Not the largest city in NC, Charlotte is. But, last I heard Raleigh is around half a million, give or take. Home of N.C. State University, The Wolfpack. Raleigh is in one of the three nature zones of NC, the Piedmont which goes through the center of the state, the other two are the Coast and the Mountains. Raleigh is in an area they call The Triangle, which make up the cities of Raleigh, Chapel Hill & Durham. They make the points. Other cities like Cary, Apex, Zebulon, etc are in the traingular area too. Raleigh and Durham do not touch nearby cities which the 1 Terminal Raleigh/Durham International Airport is in between.

I was also thinking about the Third Day concerts last year. The University of Notre Dame is here(although they are, technically, their own city). Also the College Football Hall of Fame is here. The Studebaker automobiles were made here, also.
Back in the 1600's, the French explorer LaSalle passed through this area on his way to the Mississippi River. He held a council with the local Indian tribe, the Potowatami under an oak tree-which then became known as Council Oak. It was in what became a cemetery. I visited it when i was in school-3rd or 4th grade I think. They finally had to cut it down several years ago because it had been struck by lightning so many times. There wasn't much left of it anyway by then because of those strikes-plus time, of course.
