Its just a sad statment on today's culture, that's its kool to be gay. And that the gay way of life should be embraced. In Canada, gay people have more rights than Native people...it makes me mad.

I don't think it would have taken her so long if she thought people would think it was cool. I'm not condoning anything, I just don't think that what she did had anything to do with it being cool.

That's crap. I've found myself in the past becoming attracted to married men. Did I "fall in love" with them? No. But I could have. But I wouldn't let myself because I knew it was wrong.
I know Christians who have struggled with homosexual feelings because they know that God does not condone homosexuality, and they knew it was wrong, yet that was how they feel. And a good amount of the people I know really ended up breaking free in the end because they chose God's way instead of their own desires.
DOn't get too wound up. It would only matter if the WNBA had fans :p

Bull...
There's such a thing as self-control; our emotions should not control us (unless we were merely animals, which we are not). But, regardless, I don't see why there's so much publicity over this announcement by a two-bit celebrity in a one-bit sport... no one would even know who she was other than this... reeks of a publicity stunt.

Did hear that she said she was not born this way. She does have an eight year old child but I'm not sure if she was married.
Interesting...

She did state she wasn't born that way. She also stated she had a child from a previous marriage. Here's a link to the "story": http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5025926

Please, I am not trying to start any arguements here but, who are we to judge.

Exactly, until any of us have walked in her shoes we are in no position to judge. As I said earlier, I am not condoning anything, but none of us know what her experience is.

I think that I'll speak up and say we are to judge. A sin is a sin whether a person is gay, adulterous, or a murderer.

I let my Father do the judging. :)

So if you do no judging at all, how can you rebuke your own brother for what you are 'judging' by his/her actions is a sinful lifestyle? This is, after all, what we are told to do. It is one of our obligations as Christians.
But that's a whole 'nother can o' worms.

Thoughts?
About how eventhough she lives thousands of miles away I can somehow put out my opinion on something that doesn't involve me and would probably be better dealt with by the people that know her personaly that she sees as friends, parents, pastor, neighbor and anyone God puts in her way not including spectators?
Nope. :D

But is she claiming to be a Christian?
Otherwise, we aren't to rebuke our brother/sister, she's NOT. She is of the world, and we expect that of people of the world. We point them to God's Word and then hope they are convicted.

So we're not to inform unbelievers of their sin (in a loving manner of course)? Evangelizing is more than just spreading the gospel.

I agree that you should judge to an extent as to determine if you're going to allow said judged individual to influence your life, or that of your children. However, that is applied to leaders, people who beckon you to follow in their steps, people who ask for your help or money and people who are in your life and you are able to personally see and talk with.
This woman is neither of those. Odds are, she'll never read these boards. If she does, she most likely won't read this and think "hmmmm... after everything I've heard from the public, from zealous passerbys, this has touched the spot. Yes, this has changed me."
Save your burdens and convictions for those around you, because they need it just as much as a distant semi famous person that you'll never see, and better yet, you can actually be an influence to them. For those who already do, I admire you. :)

...or a glutton, or one who lusts, or one who bears false witness, or one who worships anything before God....look, we all sin and no one is free from it. God hates my sin as much He hates homosexual behavior, even though many people wouldn't think twice about my sin.
I do believe that some people can be born with an attraction for people of the same sex. We are all born with a sin nature. GOD will judge us on how/if we act on it. Jesus gives us the way to Him.

We can judge the act, but very clearly, not the person. Instead of being angry and cutting her down, we need to be praying for her. Previous posts are right. We all have some sort of sin in their life. Homosexuality seems to be a hot-button issue right now. It seems like it is some sort of super sin or something.
Let's not condemn her, but pray that someone would show her God's love. Think of what a great testimony she could have some day.

Thoughts? Sure, Ive never heard of her. Im not suprised either. She is tom-boyish, works in an occupation wich is normally seen as masculine, and she is around beautiful women every day.
I really dont pay attention to gay celebrities or what not anymore. Being gay is so trendy now, and is a sin that has taken this world by storm. Gay people no longer shock me.
My thoughts are, we all will be judged one day, she will and I will. Let her live this way for a while, if someone personal to her has a heart to help her, then maybe she will come around. Sometimes people need to live in their sin for a period of time before they can really realize what they are doing to themselves. That is why Im not all jumpety the moment someone sins.
